  1. ... It's nothing like that. :-k
  2. Because Colorado may be the only team with more second basemen than the Cubs. Offhand, they have Nix, Barmes, Stewart, Giles, Quintanilla and Kata all fighting for playing time/a roster spot.
  3. idk, my bff Jill?
  4. Harry also once said, and I quote, "That couple sitting out there has a system. He kisses her on the strikes, and she kisses him on the balls" during a live broadcast. Does that mean that we should make jokes about genitalia and oral sex (Felix Pie threads notwithstanding)? Seriously, there's nothing worse than the clueless fan, in their clean, new hat and their pinstriped ringer t-shirt (you've all seen them) bearing the name and number of a player whose first name/position they can't name, shouting "I LOVE MY CUBBIES! WOOOOOO!" Just say no to Cubbies.
  5. Anyone who tries to start the wave at Wrigley will be shot on sight.
  6. Looked to me like he had to pull up so he didn't get Hoffpauir'd.
  7. Cubs.com story, he says "I'm fine." We'll see. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080315&content_id=2428981&vkey=spt2008news&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc&partnered=rss_chc
  8. I really like that, to be honest. Marmol as the fireman, Howry setting up and Woody closing it out. And if Marmol doesn't pitch earlier in the game, he's still available in the 9th just in case. Best scenario, if you ask me.
  9. The box score says he has indeed left the game. Pat said he got up and walked off the field just fine and I did see him hold up a hand after he took the tumble as if to say "no need to come out, I'm fine," but the way he landed on his hands and wrists when he took the tumble really worries me.
  10. I like McGehee. 1B-3B-C with some SS and 2B mixed in. How bad has he been in the past that he hasn't gotten a shot at a bench spot yet?
  11. Soto should have held onto the ball, ran out to the basepath and tagged him out himself.
  12. Did Paul soap dropping Konerko just try to steal a base? Soap drop you, Ozzie.
  13. They went to the Series in '06.
  14. Soto is Puerto Rican. Or did I just miss an obvious joke?
  15. At this point even the two of them might not know what's actually happening. ](*,)
  16. Untrue. Lee rocked the high socks last season on Jackie Robinson Day and he too looked badass.
  17. I didn't say anything about the high socks affecting actual physical ability. Neifi single-handedly campaigned to have the Mendoza line renamed the Perez line, sure, but at least he was wearing his socks properly while doing it.
  18. I maintain there's no ballplayer who doesn't look better in the high socks. Aramis provides further vindication for such a hypothesis; he looks badass.
  19. You figure that when/if Cedeno goes in a [Roberts] trade, Cintron takes his 25-man spot as the utility infielder.
  20. Cubs win 3-2, Alex Cintron with the GW RBI single.
