  1. He takes a Hu-ge lead off the base.
  2. http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/2008/04/19/cubs-remove-racist-shirts-from-wrigley/ Cubs take swift action.
  3. A plate appearance and the first two pitches of the next one, yes.
  4. "You know, Ron, the PR people asked us yesterday if it would be alright for Marisa Miller to come up to the booth today. I said 'you know, we could probably squeeze her in.'" "Well we could squeeze her alright..." "Careful there, Ron."
  5. Ron just said he didn't look like he was hurting in the slightest. Current hopeful explanation is simply to give Ward some garbage time ABs.
  6. I hope so. If it were even an inning later, I'd have given it no thought. It just worries me a bit.
  7. Adam Dunn did homer for the Reds, off reliever Kevin Hart in the eighth. That’s when fans at Wrigley Field not only threw one ball back—as is a tradition after an opponent’s homer—they littered the field with 15 baseballs, momentarily halting play. “I was surprised. I didn’t know that many people hit a home run today,” Cubs right fielder Kosuke Fukudome said through a translator. He can rake, walk AND make funny. What a guy.
  8. Think of the words "Pujols" and "birth certificate" and then the likely age of the Egyptian hieroglyphics.
  9. Got that right. ](*,)
  10. Definitely his brother's brother.
  11. Hart in, consternation can cease.
  12. Didn't Soriano get injured about this time last year, come back and start tearing the cover off the ball? And then didn't he come back after the injury in August and have that monster September? Clearly this was all orchestrated: Soriano knew he was struggling, so he injured himself with the knowledge that he'll come back and start killing the ball. I don't know how I didn't see it before. I mean, seriously, a guy injuring himself by hopping? Who would believe that? :D :| :(
  13. I love watching Jose "good god am I obnoxious to watch" Valverde blow a maximum-cushion save.
  14. 4 years ago today was that game against Cinci where Sosa and Alou went back-to-back off Danny Graves (late of the independent Long Island Ducks and the Triple-A Rochester Red Wings ) in the 9th to tie and win it. I'll take another great game like that minus the back-and-forth drama please.
  15. Calf strain. Lou said postgame that Soriano is getting an MRI tonight and that "it could be a while," but also said later that "it could be a few days." So we know that Soriano will be out anywhere from a few days to the rest of the season. We'll know more tomorrow.
  16. http://bcvm22.home.comcast.net/~bcvm22/cubs/4152008.mp3 Highlights
  17. Are you kidding me? Did Sori just hurt himself doing his little hop?
  18. The Cubs have played enough innings in the state of Pennsylvania this week that they shouldn't have to come back this season.
