I don't disagree with this, but in glancing at his career numbers, I'm surprised that he's struck out as relatively little as he has, particularly for a guy with his strike zone.
I think Blanco's influence on Geo has to be taken into account to some degree when we discuss how willing the Cubs will be to try and bring him back, be it by exercising his option or declining it, buying him out and renegotiating. Any time anyone has asked Geo about his defense or his handling of the pitching staff or his leadership, the first words out of his mouth are "Henry Blanco helps me a ton."
Now what? Please. We all sulk for a month, start watching the Hot Stove, and come February we'll reconvene and speak of hope and prepare to watch them do it all over again.
