    It's not a completely random occurrence since he's had blister problems in years past (I remember he had one at the start of 2004, although I don't think he missed time with it), but I agree. You'd never prefer someone get injured and miss time, but if someone with Woody's injury history goes on the DL, a blister being the culprit rather than something structural with his shoulder or elbow probably comes as a relief.

    Why? Johnson was really good last year and hasbeen over the last several years when he's been on the field I think he meant Randy rather than Reed.

    DeRo played a fairly significant amount of outfield with Texas prior to signing with the Cubs, to the tune of 85 appearances (80 starts) in RF between 2005 and 2006. It's not that Ibanez is a great left fielder whom people don't think could play right - it's that he's a slow and aging player who doesn't inspire particular confidence at any spot in the outfield.

    Hitting .288 with 31 HRs and 159 RBIs for a combined $7.5 mil over two seasons while providing solid and consistent defense at 5 positions and being a fan favorite goes a long way towards whitewashing initial overreactions.
