    It's the "you never know" factor that worries me somewhat. It's almost invariable that a team you don't snuff out when you have the chance will come back and trouble you somehow. See also: 2004 Astros.

    None of the potential playoff teams wants to play any of the other potential teams. The seeding looks like a middle school dance: lots of people standing on opposite sides of the room, too scared to go anywhere near the others.

    Agree completely. I know it would be kind of difficult to "back into the playoffs" 30-plus games above .500, but it's what I don't want us to do. I want a good showing this weekend.

    Unless Howry were to single-handedly injure all of our starting position players and all of our key pitchers, is it really possible for him to ruin our season when we've already clinched the division and HFA throughout?
