    Aye. Battery mates. Although thats now even funnier b/c, assuming Sori is back, the Cubs will have 4 starters. God, you can strike me down after the first pitch is thrown if the Cubs have 4 ASG starters. they were saying this morning on the score that sori decided not to start the game because his hand was 'barking' at him after taking bp in st louis

    i thought that only worked with marshall. i've got a lot of man love for maddux, but i don't think he's what this team needs, which is an upper-rotation starter. if he'd be coming back to coach the pitchers, then hire him as pitching coach down the line.

    he was talking so much about how shark isn't very good and teams weren't interested in him, he didn't get around to the ntc because it wouldn't matter

    kevin goldstein's on kap's wgn show right now. says he's heard that the a's can't find anything they're too interested by in the cubs minor league system. maybe vitters, veal, ceda not much value in shark, colvin - bad scouting reports, unimpressive performance. maybe for someone like maddux or wolf. cubs will have to find a team interested in quantity over quality, because there's not much quality there.

    a brewers fan friend sent me this: Wisconsin State Journal is reporting it's LHP Zach Jackson and RHP Rob Bryson in the deal with LaPorta.

    ESPN: Cleveland would get Double-A outfielder Matt LaPorta, who is hitting .288 with 20 homers and 66 RBIs in 84 games for Huntsville, and others. The other players do not include top prospects Alcides Escobar or Mat Gamel, according to the Journal Sentinel.
