  1. Well yeah, considering you got by far and away the 2 best players in the trade, I'd have to say thats a collusion-esque trade.
  2. And she doesn't like having to buy them "from strangers". Yeah, and shes too lazy to boil them and dry them...there was just a whole lot wrong with that commercial. It was hilarious though that she was saying all of this while walking through the forest. But I almost threw up while watching it. And it wasn't like I was watching Matlock or something, it was Hook, a damn kids movie. Now in order to not see that commercial again I have to watch the Sox pre-game.
  3. I just saw a commercial with a lady complaining that she had to re-use catheters....how in God's name to people watch TV during the middle of the day?
  4. Well it sucks to live in the suburbs for a whole lot more than this...
  5. Heres the updated radar. http://www.wunderground.com/radar/radblast.asp?zoommode=pan&prevzoom=zoom&num=6&frame=0&delay=15&scale=1.000&noclutter=0&ID=LOT&type=N0R&showstorms=0&lat=41.95389938&lon=-87.66174316&label=Chicago,%20IL&map.x=400&map.y=240&scale=1.000&centerx=400&centery=240&showlabels=1&rainsnow=0&lightning=0&lerror=20&num_stns_min=2&num_stns_max=9999&avg_off=9999&smooth=0 As you can see the brunt of the storm has moved quite a bit and will soon be out of Chicago.
  6. Really starting to come down now...that means the worst should be gone by game time.
  7. It ain't much when it's putting out fires. ;) haven't heard anything about that today, are they still going or are they finally out now? We'll probably hear in a half an hour.
  8. just wondering, based on what? all the forecasts i've seen show rain all day. is it just going to be a lot lighter later on? Based on a couple radar pictures I've seen and the % chance of rain diminishing at 2. Yeah, its probably not going to be great, but the worst of it will hopefully be gone by gametime or soon thereafter.
  9. Shoulda waited til tomorrow. Can't take the chance haha, took the day off work... better go and hope for the best. Couldn't have gone in and just switched the day off to tomorrow? You don't understand how the real world works.
  10. it looks like the worst of it will go through before the game starts. I have to believe they'll do their best to get the game in,but then again the Sox didn't. Hopefully the field is OK. My guess is that it gets postponed an hour and played today...but I'm a really optimistic person.
  11. Its not like this is a new revelation though...
  12. Huet is the only goalie I've seen who can turn a good glove save into a scary rebound. Seriously, hes obligated by law to give up a rebound on every save he makes...even glove saves. BTW, that sure seemed like a weak penalty on Buff. But, I'll take it. :D
  13. Dukes is better than either, but playing time is an issue since Jim Bowden was under the impression that the Nationals were playing in the softball beer league and thought that he could have a short CF. If you've got a deep bench, hold onto Dukes and I'm sure something will get worked out (or not), but if you need a reliable player (ie playing time), you're not going to lose a ton dropping him for Jones.
  14. Depends who you'd be dropping them for but for right now I'd keep Lind over Snider. Better place in the batting order, better batting average, better power, more experienced.
  15. Definitely Jones for this year and perhaps for the long term. Snider is going to be a liability average wise and so will Maybin. Snider could help you with power, Maybin could help you with steals, but Jones is going to probably do a little of both.
  16. I was really confused as to why you guys were so quick to post (as if I was on a delay or something), but then I realized I rewound to watch the Bradley homer a few times and didn't catch up :D
  17. Because Theriot as the SS is the one who is supposed to take charge...unfortunately hes an idiot. Don't blame him, blame Louisiana schools.
  18. He kinda looked sluggish before he rolled his ankle too...I think thats just the way he looks.
  19. Bradley tries to kill Wandy...hes such a terrible person!!!!
  20. I don't even think Joey Gathright could have gotten a double on that...unless you infact are kidding and just making fun of the hustle arguement...if so, carry on.
  21. I wasn't madly in love with MLBN before the season, but right now its just like projectile vomitting baseball all over my face and I am loving it. Every two seconds is an update. I feel like I'm God, able to watch over every single thing thats going on in all the games at the same time.
  22. :-s The mets aren't the only team to cause their fans to bang their head against a wall because of choke jobs at the end of the year (or in the playoffs), thereby rendering them with short term memory loss...
  23. Back in 2004, I went into a lot of detail to look at the effect of Pierre & Castillo on Florida's offense. I looked at the following hitters' performance when those guys were on first versus other bases versus bases empty. iirc, there was little difference, but that guys actually hit slightly worse when the speedy guys were on base. THT did a more robust study a few years ago as well and pretty much found the same thing.
