  1. *In before Michael Jackson* >_> Why does his hat always look too big on him? I believe the answer is "because he has a small head".
  2. Nice. =D> Yes...good show.
  3. Did they just say that Killingsworth has good hands? He may be quick, but he does not have good hands IMO.
  4. heh...gf out Chistmas shopping...having a Patron and lime and about to watch IU-UK...Let's go Hoosiers!
  5. ^^^^^^^ Killingsworth MUST keep turnovers to a minimum, and it would be nice if Strickland showed up today. When is White expected back?
  6. I hate to overanalyze a simple statement like this, but does anyone else interpret this to mean that perhaps Jim doesn't know other teams' systems as well as he should? I heard the interview and the statement came in the context of evaluating Nolasco and Pinto, where the Cubs and Marlins had pretty much the same opinion/rating of the two. i think he was just trying to be complementary. ...haven't heard the interview, so the insight is appreciated. My concern seems to be groundless.

  8. Gotcha...I'm still not pleased that Wood continued to pitch without true reason for as long as he did last fall, but I should have done a bit of my own research on what was being said in the original post in this thread. My initial interpretation was flawed.
  9. Yes, the organization bears no blame in how they handled Kerry last year.     "Hi I'm Kerry Wood, I want to remain injuried and pitch in meaningless games to screw my next season, and possibly my career up, just to piss off Cubs fans that have held hope in me" In the end, it really doesn't matter. Kerry's days as a top notch starter are over. The Cubs need to trade him to a team like Texas that needs a top notch closer. His stuff and temperament are better suited to that role. First, I'm not certain that he ever attained the title "top notch starter" because he lacked that type of consistency over the course of a season. Additionally, I think it's premature to label his chances at having success as a starter again as slim. Let's see what he does this season (if we ever see him on the mound).
  10. This question had better be raised at the friggin Convention. My blood pressure has to be through the roof right now...I'm a young man...I'm contemplating jumping ship...I've only wasted about 20 years following the Cubs at this point. How in the hell can they justify pitching Kerry late last season after they had determined he was going to have surgery? Let's not let this injury affect just one season....better make it two.
  11. My suspicion is that Dan Jennings was most likely correct in stating the deal includes Mitre and excludes a Marlins prospect. Dan is the assistant GM and VP in charge of player personnel for the Marlins. http://www.perfectgame.org/2005/stories/03_17_05_dan_jennings.cfm edit - the link doesn't recap what Dan stated during the interview this morning, but it does verify that he is the Marlin's VP in charge of player personnel. Dan was interviewd by WNSP in Mobile at around 7:45 this morning.
  12. I have a meeting in about ten minutes and don't have time to read through the entire thread right now, but Dan Jennings (assistant GM of the Marlins) did an interview with our local ESPN radio affiliate this morning and confirmed that the deal was for Pinto, Nolasco, and Mitre. There is no prospect from Florida coming back to the Cubbies in this deal. I'm sure that many here believe that we overpaid for Pierre, but one has to consider that Hendry probably HAS to make the playoffs this season to keep his job. He already had to pass on Furcal b/c of the gargantuan contract that the Dodgers offerred. I've personally seen Pinto and Nolasco pitch for the DiamondJaxx, and they were both very good. However, I'm not sold that any of the three will stay afloat in the big show. Were either Pinto or Nolasco Rule 5 eligible?
  13. I second this idea. Can a Mod put this in place? All, Bruce is free to post where he desires in this forum. Isn't it a bit presumptious to believe that he would embrace the idea of having his own thread in which to post. He does get paid to do such in his column...I just don't like everyone hounding him everytime that he shows his face...errr name. Again, JMHO.
  14. Lol....my thoughts exactly... This is just my opinion, but perhaps we shouldn't create a new thread soliciting the newest "scoop" from Bruce everytime that we see him lurking around the forum. Obviously, we all respect his opinion and appreciate what he brings to this site. However, I sometimes cringe when reading these threads....That said, I do understand that everyone is on "pins and needles" waiting to hear what the next move will be.
  15. sign us up...at very least that's intriguing depending on whom else may be available this week
  16. Weren't we talking about this in another thread? I can't remember if I gave my opinion or not :P. Anyway, I think Killingsworth will have no problem getting 20-30/10 against us. I won't be surprised at all if UK loses this game. We were indeed. It was the "2005-2006 Indiana Hoosiers" thread, but the thread disappeared yesterday somehow in the aftermath of the site's recent problems. I've been unable to relocate it again w/o the use of the search function, but this thread will be serviceable for such discussion. I haven't stayed abreast of the situation at UK....what is the name of the really tall guy that I remember from last year? How is he defensively? That's Shagari Alleyne, I believe. He punked DJ last year. I'm sure White would love another shot at him. Speaking of DJ, can you imagine him as help defender in the post? Can you imagine him as #2 option? What is anyone gonna do when you have a 6'10" athletic C slashing down the lane? Killer can pass the ball too. I would have loved to sit in on a practice with them 2 playing on the same side of a scrimmage. That's definitely him. Yeah, I thought I remembered him giving White a hard time last season. Raw, I'm also extremely eager to see DJ and Killingsworth side by side. They should be a bit better than the recent tandem of Newton/Leach, and that's probably quite an understatement.

  18. Have there been any reports indicating when White will return to the IU lineup? I hate that he will be out of action for the upcoming IU-UK game. I know that UK has a couple of 7+ footers on the bench, but I'm not sold that they will be able to defend Killingsworth either. He's too agile for them and most likely will be too strong for Sims or Perry.
  19. I've had the same issue
  20. Wilmont came back strong from suspension. It will be interesting to see how Davis gets minutes for Wilmont, Strickland, Suhr (who's been playing well), Ratliff, Vaden, Monroe and Calloway for 3 spots. The key so far for the Hoosiers offense is making the extra pass. Way too many turnovers tonight, but on 75 baskets this year, they have 55 assists. They are making the extra pass this year and not relying on bringing the ball up and getting it to Bracey for an off balance, fading, 17- footer over two guys. Fixed that for ya. The Duke game next week will obviously be a better indicator of what kind of team IU has this year, but I doubt that we are going to stay in this one without DJ White in the paint alongside Killingsworth. Hopefully we'll meet up with Duke again in March.
  21. Length of proposed contract Amount per Year in proposed contract Age Diminishing skill level You can find your answer in many threads on the board already.
  22. Who thinks that we'll see Corey in half a season of winter ball? The article suggests that Hendry is pushing for this.
  23. Murton has been playing LF in the Fall League from what I've heard.
  24. Auburn's kicker missed 4 field goals including the one in overtime.
