  1. Any lefty pitcher in the NL Central should bascially be discounted from any award considerations like the Cy Young or Rolaids Reliever or whatever.
  2. What an uncoachable bum.
  3. I was wondering if it was just me. http://aycu17.webshots.com/image/1456/1167794661288176820_rs.jpg You should know that srbin has never let reality get in the way of a goo- uh... an argument, at any rate.
  4. Ellis' 2005 is better than anything Todd has done ever. Even if he never quite reaches those levels again, Ellis will still be a better overall player than Todd.
  5. I don't think that's likely. Ellis recently came off the DL and he's probably a better hitter as well as a better fielder.
  6. It's not like Carlos Lee is a great player. He may be having a good year this year, but he's typically just a bit above average for a corner outfielder. Expecting the difference between Murton and Lee to make a real impact on this club is unrealistic.
  7. In limited play this year he's been better, but he's really a very marginal upgrade at best. They're essentially fungible.
  8. Uh oh. Looks like Ronny gets to be the goat today.
  9. And Aramis is down 0-1 again. He seems to be having a lot of bad at bats lately.
  10. Jones is a pretty good hitter vs righties, which is more than we can say for Matt so far.
  11. This is guilt? I thought I was just hungry.
  12. I can't believe what athletes get away with anymore. I don't blame you for disliking Ross.
  13. Just stick to song as it's written, Bob.
  14. Blanco's throws have been crappy all day.
  15. YOU BETTER KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR PROPERTY, BUDDY.
  16. This wasn't fun at all.
  17. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=2596
  18. He *is* more productive. Carlos Lee has a .301 EQA so far in 2006 and a .280 career while Bobby Abreu has a .320 and .314 respectively.
  19. Didn't someone once post a link to a lineup simulator that estimated runs scored based on a given lineup? We might even be able to prove it.
  20. If every other position was the same, a lineup that featured Bobby Abreu would score more runs than one with Carlos Lee no matter where you hit them.
  21. Dunn at Wrigley: AVG/OBP/SLG .323/.444/.714
  22. Aramis is a good hitter, but he's also a below average defender with some significant health issues. I don't know much about Weaver, but if he's really a top of the rotation starter he would probably be worth more to the team than Ramirez. FYI, in Aramis' best season, his WARP3 was 6.3. Carlos Zambrano, by way of comparison, has been worth 7.9, 8.8 and 7.8.
  23. If Hendry can't make good choices then it doesn't matter who he selects as the interim manager.
  24. Corey apparently aged several decades in his time with the Orioles. http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20060622/capt.ccde6122be8847f486fe25b05a577c6f.marlins_orioles_baseball_bab108.jpg
