    these 2 guys could both be solid middle of the rotations pitchers for us, and yes i agree with u that his start today could have an impact on the upcoming deals, but id like JH to hold on to williams, then hill until it is a dealbreaker

    The cubs have a good oppurtunity here to facilate a last minute deal, and we have one of the best GM in baseballs in coordinating such a deal. JH can definately find a good 3rd team like the reds or rangers to make the deal workable, and get a good portion of manny's contract as well as maybe a bullpen arm in the process. this weekend is gonna be hell for me..

    manny is currently 33, and his contract looks like this 06: 19 M (34) 07: 18 M (35) 08: 20 M (36) with an option for 09 and 10 at 20M the only thing that worries me is that we could be overpaying manny by a huge margin in the last 2 years of his contract if he goes Sosa on us.

    the only way manny gets moved is if the redsox pay 5 mil off of ever year after this year of his contract

    thats why a 3 way deal with texas and boston seems probable if any deal were to happen since we dont have a need at 2B

    alright early morning trade deal lets see... Cubs get: Ramirez, and Cash Rangers get: Mitre, Hollandsworth and Papelbon Boston gets: Soriano, Patterson, and Hill

    what the cubs need is consistent hitting and pitching, and soriano doesnt provide either IMO
