    hey just got back from ocean's 13 (which was good) how we doin? Zam HR? Nice....

    yeah it was definately a 2-0 count, i got very confused when people started saying otherwise. I didnt watch the play live, but i watched a replay on cubs.com, and it showed an 2-0 count. Here, screeny for ya. http://img484.imageshack.us/img484/8303/picture1tm1.png

    Theriot is not very good defensively at SS and cant handle it over the long haul (arm and range). That said, he is an excellent sub. I would love to see DeRosa shopped and have Fontenot, Izturis, and Theriot switching out in the middle. DeRosa with JJ or MM might bring an upgrade in the pen or bring us the decent catcher we sorely need. Yes, by all means, let's shop the guy with the .800 OPS and 4th highest OBP on the team (among guys with over 100 ABs), who by the way is making just about 4M per season for a bullpen arm or a 2nd no-hit all glove catcher to go with Blanco. i agree with AG. The bat that Theriot brings for as cheap as he is, is infinitely more valuable than the supposed great defense of Izturis (who's defense i find merely average at this point in his career). I think Izturis is the one that should be shopped here, as made obvious by the fact that well, he sucks.

    wow, what the hell is wrong with some of the posters on here??? Ok, I'm not sure if you folks (the ones who are outspokenly Anti-Cuban) remember, but this team hasn't won a championship in almost 100 years. We have been owned by some terrible owners in the past, none of which could ever produce a quality winning team for more than 2-3 years in a row. And now all of a sudden we're to high-class to let someone like Cuban, one of the most passionate Owners in all of sports with a pretty successful track record of winning I might add, to own our team? You just had an ownership that apointed Andy frickin MacPhail to run our team for several years, yet you don't think Cuban is a huge improvement as an owner. Wait no, not only is he a huge improvement, he is simply the best owner that we can get, bar none. And to the poster spouting off about his history of being outspoken, get off it man.

    Good thing he's leading off. Wouldn't want to waste any of those HRs by having guys on in front of him. By putting Izturis and the P right in front of him, we've virtually guaranteed that 90% of the HRs he hits will be solo shots. Well done, Cubs. Well done. Better solo HR than no HR at all. And better 2- or 3-run HR than solo. When will people get that Soriano is just a better hitter in the leadoff spot. The stats are there. Live with it.
