  1. That is going to be a dang hard streak to keep up for another year or two. not really. chances are good we will get a lousy owner and never make the playoffs again, for like 25 years or so. its a shoe-in really. That is my #1 fear for the future. Does it really matter if all they are gonna do is lay down like a bunch of dogs? Exactly. Why do we *want* them to make the playoffs? Does it ever mean good things? Does it make us happy? No. It's like wanting to see your dog get run over. I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not.

  3. At least Fontenot elevated the ball and made it somewhat interesting.
  4. How was that a strike and the one before wasn't?
  5. Baseball is pretty much dead to me after tonight.
  6. I guess one positive about losing tonight is that we don't have to see/deal with them losing at home. Although it would be nice to lose at home so they can be booed unmercifully.
  7. I'm going fishing at 4 AM and need to buy a new fishing rod, but I feel like I need to finish watching this train wreck.
  8. Would it be okay to just forfeit the rest of this game?
  9. That's how I feel about the entire playoffs. Almost, I didn't quite manage to remove all emotional investment, but I came pretty close and I'm just a little annoyed instead of outright depressed. I didn't have a lot invested going into Game 1 knowing there was a second at home, but Game 2 just finished killed my emotional investment into this crapfest. I figured I'd enjoy the day and tomorrow I'm going fishing with my best friend so it'll be a pretty good weekend even with the season almost assuredly ending tonight.
  10. I'm so glad I haven't invested any emotion into this game. Actually spent the day enjoying life pretty much knowing what to expect. It felt good.
  11. So you're here to say "I told you so?" Walking the bases loaded and giving up a grand slam, has nothing to do with playing "lackadaisical" so save that noise. Yeah that's what I'm saying. And it has everything to do with playing that way especially on the offensive side. Just seems like they thought they could show up and turn it on. Everything ever said bad about the Cubs teams is right because they lost a playoff game. They are losing and you're still wrong. Whatever makes you feel better.

  13. I posted in the last regular season game thread that I was concerned with the way the team was playing because it seemed so lackadasical and people said it was no problem. It kinda seems like it was concerning for a reason.
  14. This is the same pitching staff from this season, right?
  15. Insulting my intelligence because you used a word you don't know the meaning of is silly. Awesome, and here I was thinking we'd get sacked constantly the rest of the game I'm quite sure I know what literally means, but as I said I'm done with you. I can't believe I've wasted this much time with you.
  16. I think football is WAY too pussified, but the punter is literally hung out dry when kicking. really? what's he hanging by? I've never noticed any wires or that punters are particularly wet. They usually don't even sweat. Are you being obtuse on purpose? The punter is usually in the air (thus the word "hung") in those situations. So he's jumping in the air and staying there to dry out. that's what you said. if you had not written "literally" it wouldn't have drawn any notice. Whatever. I'm busy trying to watch the game and don't want to argue over semantics with someone to thickheaded to get the point of what I was trying to say.
