    I think the best thing for Prior is at least a month/4 starts or so in AAA. And if he's back figure out what to do from there. If he's back to normal make room for him (dump Miller or demote a struggling starter to the pen), or keep him there if he's still struggling.

    Don't the secondary pitches usually come later? Getting the fastball where he wants will hopefully lead him to be able to execute the secondary ones... hopefully.

    I sure hope that DLee doesn't pull an '05 Nomar. (Insanely hot in ST, insanely cold to start the season)

    One of the view low points (after the obvious big one) of last season was seeing Mike Brown choked up at media day about not being able to play. I hope we hold on to him, and we get him to the Super Bowl and win this time 8-)

    I think Marshall has a better shot at making it back to the big leagues with another team. There a handful of people ahead of him and Veal, Gallagher and Jeff S. are coming up right behind him.

    Hasnt he been sick a lot lately? I doubt Patterson will get the starting job this early. If Pie doesnt, then Patterson doesnt. Patterson will (hopefully) earn it some time over the life of Derosa's contract (3 years).

    Probably because the last time the Cubs made somebody a starter after watching him have an anomolously good previous year, they got to watch Ronny Cedeno play a full year as one of the worst hitters in baseball. It's not like Derosa has a long pedigree of success either, though.

He's still saying he'd be willing to talk after the year is over if it doesn't get down before opening day.

    Does anyone find it awkward he's only available for WGN's games? No, it's just those games were in the contract earlier. CSN decided to add a few games a month or two ago to their schedule, and by that time Brenly had apparently scheduled things for those days that he apparently didn't want to get out of. I bet he's watching his son play baseball. It's his senior year, and once the season starts he's not going to have a chance to see him play.

    I can't believe you have to ask that question !! :shock: I'm going to try to do both. I have a large stack of research papers that I've been putting off grading all week. just give them all As. The kids will like you (more), and you'll get done faster.
