  1. If Braden Looper wins more than 10 games, I might quit baseball.
  2. It's so great to have a fellow central division fan on the board that we can share our dislike of Eckstein with :D
  3. I would but I have a mid-term, can't afford a 0 on that.
  4. I have a mid-term at 2:00pm :x For visuals sake here is the opening day lineup http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/2007/03/02/ulkh2v6I.jpghttp://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/2007/03/02/ksdjbLwR.jpghttp://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/2007/03/02/pcAphdHH.jpghttp://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/2007/03/02/Kgd3tNkv.jpghttp://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/2007/03/02/gjB79KwS.jpghttp://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/2007/03/02/I9ago4WV.jpghttp://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/2007/03/02/yBJU3hdD.jpghttp://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/2007/03/02/ZDeMZNNv.jpghttp://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/2007/03/02/mA9xPpVU.jpg
  5. Isn't Ramirez one of the very mediocre to crappy pitchers that have had the great pleasure of completely shutting down the Cubs?
  6. I think it's the entire 7th now.
  7. Those positive vibes have really helped the last two years with Ramirez and Lee's deals too, right? Actually Ram was signed this past fall... His 2005 contract was opening day
  8. Worked for Walker. Statistically, it's been proven he hit better when he had the scruff working. :) The manliness intimidated the opposing pitcher.
  9. OUCH, Barrett takes one off the forearm.
  10. That's quite sexy. I think Jeff will be the first benefit of the Wilken era, as well as the first major leaguer.
  11. I read the article to and was pretty fascinated. A couple of other interesting points. - Boston ordered an MRI on his shoulder right away, it was clean as a whistle. All perfectly healthy. I think more than his workload, he's just a genetic freak. - The amount of pitches he threw in high school. During Japan's equivalent of March Madness in High School Baseball. The days and amount of pitches (I don't have it handy but I know he threw an insane amount of pitches in several games and closed a game in the middle), all this would make the story from Kerry Wood's final High School days seem like a normal workload.
  12. The Cubs.com article says several scouts radars had him at 86-87 topping out at 89.
  13. I think it's officially over, it says it was ended early on Cubs.com and the box score is up.
  14. Looks like that gun is off by +3 mph. even if so, that still puts Mark at a better spot than he was last time.
  15. man, I soooo want the real Mark Prior back. He is just so fun to watch pitch when he's on.
  16. I saw 85 on one of his pitches. I've had my back to the TV for the most part. The highest I saw was 87. He got it up to 93mph. They are talking about Maddux's mph
  17. break out the champagne it's celebration time
  18. I don't think one has much to do with the other. Throwing a curve is a very different feeling than throwing a fastball. Guys can throw a fastball great all day and have absolutely no control over the curve. He needs to get his control back on both; hopefully right now he's getting his fastball back, and once he has more confidence in that, he can start getting his curveball back too. That's kind of what I meant. From the beginning of spring he was focused on getting the fastball where he wanted it so he had no time to work on his secondary pitches.
