    on RCN it hasn't started for me yet, it's got a message "You can't view MARQSPHD. this may be because you do not yet subscribe to this channel. Please contact RCN..." It's supposed to be in the package I have and I'm able to stream the channel through the app by logging in with my RCN account.

    Yeah it's amazing the amount of people that respond to anything mentioning the Cubs Marquee pissed off they won't be able to watch games in "state that is way far away from Chicago". Literally nothing is changing for these people that live out of market, I realize there was national WGN but they haven't done sports in years have they?

    with the ease of switching streaming providers I'm guessing Youtube won't be far behind this Hulu announcement. I'm guessing the press release is a nudge at Youtube to get in line, same with them confirming no comcast for spring training opener. [tweet] [/tweet]

    because if there was an actual directive they would be under the luxury tax now and Bryant would have been traded in an awful trade (see: Red Sox), or someone else would have been moved We'll see, If we're at opening day and they are still over than I'm pretty confident in my post be mostly true. It's not an ideal situation, but for me it's better than what the Red Sox did.

    Yeah, not saying this is going to change players opinions on ever wanting to play here. It's just funny that Chicago is the center of the basketball world this weekend, and the Bulls - front office is a punch line - head coach is a punch line - team sucks - only representative is in the 3 point competition and now the weather sucks

    I like how the weather decided to put an exclamation point on Chicago being basketball hell for all of the all stars and media coming to town this weekend.

    Which wonderfully set up the double (triple?) bluff in the NLCS Game 1 giving us Blanton v. Miggy

    It's just a perfect game. The only tension live was the nagging feeling that of course something is going to go wrong, but there is never any real danger. Kyle Hendricks at his most Kyle Hendricks, a couple of dongs, Kershaw's soul being taken, and a clinching at home.

    While I agree with the sentiment, to be fair to Albert he did nearly kill a little girl last year.

    for better or worse I think Plan A right now is go to war with what they got. If things go bad they can sell off and get under, if things are going well go for it and worry about the CBT next year.

    If we're believing in what Kap says, there is not an actual directive to be under the luxury tax. It actually makes sense with a quote Ricketts gave at a blogger q&a last offseason, not going to dig it up but basically it was he doesn't care about the tax - baseball will get a budget of XXX million dollars and it is up Theo and company to spend it. Last off season they were up against that number with paying the tax so they couldn't do anything. Now looking at the next two seasons they see that in one of them they need to get under so as not to eat up way to much of 2021 funds in tax Do I think Ricketts should look at the tax as a separate thing and just pay it separate from baseball budget, yes. But given all that we know I think the above scenario is probably mostly true.
