I kind of find the trade incouraging, it shows that Hendry is working, he's getting out there and trying to improve the team. I can almost guarenteed he'll do some more dealing by Aug. 1st. Look at Hendry's track record in trades, if he does a trade he usually gets valuable parts Barret Lee A-Ram Williams & Aardsma The Sosa deal, he may have got screwed financially, but Hairston is a key to our offense right now, Fontenot looks like he could be a fine utility guy & they still owe us a prospect (Plus looking at Sosa's stats, he simply don't want that on this team) The Farns deal - Farns is doing great right now and we need a guy like him, but he got Scott Moore who is having a break out year and Novoa is pretty much a younger Farns but without the temper Nomar deal - netted Murton who is looking like he is going to be a very good hitter with great plate discipline Lofton was one of the keys to the '03 playoff run. I say sit back and see what he does 2003 - He put together a division winning team, that very well could have won the world series 2004 - Put together an even better team, but what happened on the field cannot be blamed on Jim. I guess what I'm trying to say is Dubois for Gerut is not an Earth shaker, but I highly doubt Jim said "Here's Jody Gerut, now get us to the playoffs - I'll be on vacation for awhile." Dubois was not going to be a succesful part of the team this year, Hendry went and got a guy that Dusty can probably trust... a guy that can play defense.
