Ok after tonights game here is the wild card standings Braves* - 51-40 (.560, --GB) Marlins - 45-43 (.511, 4.5GB) Cubs - 45-44 (.506, 5GB) Phillies - 46-45 (.505, 5GB) Astros - 44-44 (.500, 5.5GB) Mets - 45-45 (.500, 5.5GB) *Braves are 1.5 out of their division lead, and will more than likely take that in the next week and not relinquish it.
P.S. we still suck, alot P.S.S. The Cubs 5 game winning streak is the longest in MLB, if the A's win tonight they would also have a 5 game winning streak P.S.S.S. To break up the optimisim, man do we suck!
 Wild Card Braves 50-40 (.556 - playing Mets) Phillies 46-44 (.511 - playing Marlins) Mets 45-44 (.506 - playing Braves) Marlins 44-43 (.506 - playing Phillies) Astros 44-43 (.506 -playing Cardinals) Cubs 45-44 (.506 - already won) So with 4 of the 5 teams in front of us playing eachother, ground will be definately be gained on at 2 teams. And the team tied with the Cubs is playing the number 1 team in the NL. Sips Kool-Aid, I can't believe I'm saying it but we are right in the thick of things.
Yeah this is a strange weekend with Mets facing Braves. Who are also both ahead of us, I'd guess it'll be the same as Cards/Astros. Have Braves beat up on the Mets with the Assumption that the Braves win the division and Nationals fall out.
That would be great if he was a proven post season pitcher. 4 starts with none past the divisonal series doesn't do much for me. I'll eat two crows when he dominates the postseason.
Hawkins comes in for the Giants with 2 on 2 out and a 2 run lead, gives up a ground rule double to make it 4-3. Goes 2-0 than intentionaly loads the bases. He strikes out Werth to end the threat. Hawk always walking on the wild side.
