  1. Yes,That was an impressive AB by Cora.
  2. You must be a Jim Edmonds fan! BTW, even if Neifi did dive, there was no way he gets even close to that ball.
  3. Shhh, making fun of Raisin is much better. He's right, you know, Derwood. CHICAGO CUBS Hitters AB R H BI BB K LO AVG M. Lawton LF 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 .269 T. Walker 2B 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 .304 D. 4. I will be suprised if Carpenter stays healthy the whole season, which he has only done once in his career,IIRC. Without him, they are very suspect in a 7 game series. My pick for the WS: Atlanta over NYY

  6. Corey still does not have big league hitting abillity. He should not be guaranteed a spot on the 25 man roster going into ST next year. He should have to earn it. Until he makes major adjustments to his swing, he does not belong in the majors.
  7. Sosa? Pujols? Clemens?
  8. I don't hate Z. He's just a baby IMO. You're right in that he has been better this year. obviously you do, because you're bringing up stuff that's way in the past. how is he a baby? what has he done this year to warrant being called that, aside from the umpire incident in arizona? He's bitter b/c Z shuts down the Cards every chance he gets!
  9. Didn't Jerome & Glendon talk to him before the game?
  10. Hard to tell. Z went to the clubhouse, and there appreared to be some confusion in the dugout. The Weurtz got up in the pen. z walked into the dugout shaking his head. rothschild came up to him, but z did the finger across the throat thing and walked right past him to the clubhouse. rothschild followed him for a second with a confused look on his face before turning around. The players have lost repect for anyone on the coaching staff.
  11. Did the Cubs get Alou off of waivers from the Giants?
  12. Any chance the players have also given up on Dusty? I don't see anyone playing to their talent or potential right now.
  13. despite the strong outing today, if somebody claimed maddux, i'd definitely be inclined to let him go. the safety of 200 innings a year is nice, but if it's two hundred innings of 4.80 era, i think we can do better. Under MLB rules, Is a team allowed to expose someone to waivers with a no-trade clause?
  14. huh? That bomb he hit into the seats last night, I can see why you think that!
  15. He's played how many games in a Cubs uniform & you already judging him? Geez!!
  16. I'm not a fan of Macias starting this often. Does anyone have his numbers since he has started in CF? It's can't be worse than what Corey was giving us in the 1st half of the season. Macias as a CF is 5 for 14 this year. Way too small to draw any conclusions, and Patterson produced at a better rate than Macias has this season, as bad as Corey has been. That's how bad Macias is. Plus Macias is mediocre at best defensively in CF. Explain how Patterson has produced @ a better rate this year than Macias? K/BB rates? OBP? avg.? Runs Created Macias' OBP is .308 & Corey's is .270 Corey has a better slg % over Macias by only 26 points. Macias also has a better batting Avg. So how has Corey been better @ creating runs than Macias, TY?

  19. i wish it weren't, but i definitely think it is. I think JH has been one of the better GM's in baseball. Sure he's had shortcomings, but as a whole, his body of work is impressive. i disagree completely. he has been turned lose with the checkbook and delivered a very poor product. i can not believe he is around if this team isn't much better next year....hopefully before that. he has a 100 mil payroll and we had an outfield of burnitz, hairston and holla...eeh The Cubs payroll is 87 mil, not 100 mil. IIRC, it's 3rd or 4th highest in the NL.
  20. I would be suprised if he ever makes it back to the big leagues. He's easily fooled by off-speed stuff.
  21. Yeah, and at least half of the runs will come from that fearsome 6-9 of Neifi, Macias, Blanco, Prior. Prior being the most feared hitter in that group. Actually both Blanco & Perez have been hitting the ball pretty well their last couple outings.
  22. You just can't expect this to happen season after season. We waited for the Cardinals to "come back down to earth" last year, it didn't happen until the World Series. Houston is playing good baseball, they're getting great pitching, some timely hitting and executing fundamental baseball. Why would anyone expect that to stop? Plus they have the experience of last season when they went on a run to come within a game of the World Series. The Cubs, as presently constructed, are not capable of stringing together a long winning streak or two to make a serious run at the WC. It will be slightly different with the additions of Williamson,Wood, Nomar & Lawton. It is possible they could string together a few winning streaks. Those 4 make this team better.
