  1. how about just a base hit? I'll take that, or a walk, anything to get on base
  2. instead of a 3 run homer as someone said before how about a GS
  3. Time to break out of your slump ARam. Come on Cubs!!!!!
  4. yep, unless they use him in long relief tomorrow they only brought him up for long relief and if he isn't used tomorrow he will start Wed. I dont even understand why they would bring him for just long relief if that really is the plan. That being said he had a perfect opportunity to pitch in yesyerday's win if that was the case so I guess we'll see. its strategery. Since the Bullpen has been overworked if they needed him for long relief they would have put him in and brought up Hill to start Wed. if not the plan was for him to start on Wed, which I believe would be his regular rest between starts. I would rather see Guz or Hill over WIlliams and Rusch that's for sure. You'll get your chance, Guz gets first shot at Williams' spot in the rotation. if he doesnt' show anything Hill may get a shot before Wood comes back

  7. Feel free to let your emotions flow. 6 walks in 2.2 IP. I can't see him sticking for very much longer, if you believe Hendry's statement after he sent Williams down. Jae Kuk or Hill, although I would rather if Hill isn't going to start that he stay in AAA to get his work in.
  8. Dusty doing everything he can to get Z a win. Come on offense
  9. He's struck out NINE!!!!!!! It's not about the strikeout. He's pitched poorly overall. I don't buy that this was a "quality start." He made some poor decisions on the mound and allowed himself to be beaten by their few good hitters (namely Cabrera). Well then maybe you should go and redefine QS. Because he's had one. I didn't say he didn't make mistakes, but he's got a few. Our offense needs to stop swinging at 1st pitches. No, you said he struck out 9 as if that was a sign of quality. My point was that he made key mistakes that led to runs scored. he's struck out 10 and given up 3 ER. Quality start whether you buy it or not. It doesn't matter what we call it, walking guys and giving up homeruns and doubles, right afterwards, isn't smart pitching. It's like he looses his concentration on the mound. Maybe he didn't lose his concentration. Maybe he was beat by a good hitter. How bout 7 innings, 3 ER, 11 ks? Still a "poor" outing? Perfect? No. Poor? Of course not. I'll take that, 7 innings 3 runs is quite acceptable. I hope Dusty's saving of the Bullpen doesn't wind up backfiring and Z becomes susceptible to an injury.
  10. I would have rather had 10 ground outs than 10 strikeouts. A strikeout is just another out (See Greg Maddux)
  11. call it a quality start if you want, but a 4.5 ERA is crapola. Especially when you are the supposed ace of the staff.
  12. With Z staying in for the sixth, does this set up for Guzman to start on Wed.?
  13. I don't think she is anything special. She is soooo hot. I sit right behind the ESPN announcers at Badger Hoops games and she did a lot of games. Even better looking in person, leg that go all the way up. Every time she would come over by the announcers, Steve Lavin would lean over and say something to Musberger as she was walking away.
  14. Maybe you should change your screen name to combat the inevitable. I grew up in Melbourne Beach on the east coast, now live in Gainesville and go to the University of Florida. The NCAA champions in basketball. :D No stress, I grew up an FSU fan until my sister went to UF and then I followed. I enjoy the rivelary, but some of my best friends go to FSU. The hatred is all in good fun. Red Neck Riviera
  15. There's a difference between showing emotion and doing something stupid that could hurt yourself and the team. Especially with the rotation in the state it is in right now. There are 24 other guys he needs to be accountable to.
  16. he's been pouting a lot this year. Then again he hasn't pitched this bad for this long in quite a while Z had a very good start last time out. He hasn't pitched that bad tonight. It should be 1-0. Why should it be 1-0? Becuase in the first inning Caberra pulled a low and away slider out of the park. Only a good hitter who has a little luck dosen't hit a weak grounder there. That pitch was not away, it was right down Broadway. Knee high down the middle of the plate when you are behind in the count goes bye bye
  17. I don't like this. At the smallest sign of adversity Z has been losing focus and it takes him 2-3 batters to get it back. Guess he should have kept his mouth shut before the season started when he was talking about winning the Cy Young.
  18. Yeah. Walks are generally never good. But if you're gonna walk someone in this lineup, Cabrera's the one to choose. Agreed, you can't walk guys like Uggla.
  19. Maybe you should change your screen name to combat the inevitable. I grew up in Melbourne Beach on the east coast, now live in Gainesville and go to the University of Florida. The NCAA champions in basketball. :D My brother was a Gator, what's your major?
  20. When you are behind in the count and the guy is sitting dead red, it is not a good pitch, you can't lay it down the middle to big league hitters, especially not Cabrera.
  21. The real problem was the walk. Cabrera is a legit hitter so, yes, tip your hat to him but he can't exacerbate the situation by walking batters. The walk hurts, but that wasn't that good of a pitch. It was down, but right over the heart of the plate.
