  1. Yeah, it looks to be the toughest by a decent margin, at least in my eyes.
  2. And just for the record, I don't consider 7-10 to really be an upset, and the 8-9 games don't even count in my book. I have a lot of 10's and 9's advancing.
  3. My upsets are all over the place. I've pretty much made it so that the only way I can win a pool is if this is a HUGE upset year. Just a few off from my list. Winthrop over ND (Sorry Andy), Maryland over Florida, Oregon over Wisconsin, Pitt over UCLA, Arkansas over USC (my 5-12 upset), Texas over UNC, Texas A&M over Memphis, and then over Ohio State. I really really wanted to pick Tennessee over Ohio State, but I think I have enough big upsets going. My final four is Oregon, Kansas, Georgetown, and Texas A&M. Not exactly what I predicted before the seedings came out.
  4. Count me in.
  5. Yeah, I have Georgetown beating KU for the title. I didn't want to put KU in, but the way my brackets shaped up, they had to be put there. It's so wide open this year, you'll probably see about 10 different teams get significant picks to win it all.
  6. I've seen them play a lot, and that's why I am picking them to win it all. It's a stretch, but they are quite good.
  7. man, this is a tough year to fill out a bracket. i usually do pretty well with these, but this year is really hard. my elite 8 could be all upset teams. my elite 8 so far: oregon, kansas, pitt, texas, georgetown, texas a&m. now i'm debating whether i think maryland can pull off the upset and beat florida, and if tennessee can come out of nowhere to shock ohio state. i'll probably lose every pool i'm in, but trying to pick the upsets is what makes it fun.
  8. I think you highly underestimate Virginia Tech. Or overestimate Illinois.
  9. I'm in a 14 team 5 x 5 league, with some really good fantasy players. I had the 9th pick in the first round, and was fortunate enough to have Miguel Cabrera slide down to me. I went with a lot of younger guys (especially from the DBacks), and a couple of guys I'm hoping will bounce back from injuries. I'm lacking on steals, which is the whole reason I drafted Roberts. And I'm not very happy with Jones in the OF, but his fantasy stats are decent. Pitching wise, I have a bunch of good starters, and a few question marks. I didn't want to have to draft Todd Jones, but I needed another closer, and he'll at least start the season in that role. Offense C - Michael Barrett, CHC 1B - Carlos Delgado, NYM 2B - Orlando Hudson, ARI SS - Bill Hall, MIL 3B - Miguel Cabrera, FLA OF - Manny Ramirez, BOS OF - Dave Roberts, SF OF - Jacque Jones, CHC UTIL - Conor Jackson, ARI Bench Shea Hillendbrand, LAA Stephen Drew, ARI Pitchers SP - Jake Peavy, SD SP - Brett Myers, PHI RP - Francisco Rodriguez, LAA RP - Todd Jones, DET P - Ervin Santana, LAA P - Cole Hamels, PHI P - Anthony Reyes, STL Bench Jason Jennings, HOU Jason Hirsh, COL Ted Lilly, CHC
  10. Yeah, I noticed that too. What a joke. The most glaring omission has to be Syracuse though. In my opinion, they should've taken one of those Big Ten bids, but what can you do. For as rough of a year as this had to be on the selection committee, I think they did a fair job. Sure a couple teams got shafted, but that's unavoidable.
  11. Santana fell to the 6th pick?? He's gone 2nd or 3rd in all the league's I've been a part of.
  12. http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f264/nushh/d82fc6a9.jpgPLUShttp://losangeles.dodgers.mlb.com/images/2007/03/02/4wLdtFa8.jpgEQUALShttp://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/2007/03/02/gV3vdeZu.jpg
  13. No kidding. It's his first start. As long as tomorrow he isnt sore, then all went well, IMO. Agreed. I'd like to see a little more velocity (if those announcers are right), but his arm didn't fall off. It's gonna take time to get him back to being decent Mark Prior.
  14. Hey, how fast was Prior throwing today? Anyone hear anything from the announcers?
  15. Anyone have the line on Prior, I just got here and don't want to sort through 15 pages to see how he did.
  16. Or until there's a "one strike and your out" policy, giving out lifetime bans to anyone caught using.
  17. murton homered? nice. keep floyd on that bench.
  18. I'm assuming someone tossed him some cash. I believe a Chicago Area dentist fixed his teath for free a few years back. Mancow Muller paid to have his teeth fixed cause Ronnie couldn't afford it I guess. I see Ronnie out all over the place. He's always wearing his Woo Woo jersey, even when baseball isn't even in season. We go up to Milwaukee every year for a few games, and I've run into Ronnie up there at least twice. If you think he annoys Cubs fans, you should've seen the look on some of the Brewers fans faces.
  19. How has this not been locked yet? I'm usually late on my IBL's. IBL
  20. I definitely disagree here. Any conference that will get anywhere from 7-9 teams into the tournament is not having a down year. They may not have any number 1 seeds, but they have upper echelon teams in Pitt and Georgetown. That conference has had as many as 11 or 12 different teams receiving significant votes this year (not just talking 1 or 2 votes), and that's pretty impressive considering they all have to play each other. It's the same reason you're not seeing complete domination in the ACC this year as well. Both conferences are stacked pretty much top to bottom. They may not be as good as last year, but the Big East is definitely a monster of a conference.
  21. He may have looked angry at the time, but he did it for the good of mankind. Do you know how many people around the world he made smile that day?
  22. Ofcourse he is! He's Matt *freakin* Murton! If I got to A) play baseball at Wrigley Field for a living and B) make 300,000+ a year, with prospects for much, much more, I'd be happy a lot of the time too. Wow, I've always known those statements to be true. But for some reason, when I just read that, it really made me feel crappy about my life, haha
  23. Ahem... http://www.ebaymatchups.com/photos/matchups/kinghippoisfat_1828_-_1787603984_ce0c5327c071d27a96f93628bc683fb6_frame.jpg
  24. They were talking about Walker on NFL network earlier as someone who disappointed everyone, and probably slipped to day two of the draft. His vertical was good, but he didn't impress anyone in much else.
  25. You gotta remember that Hendry is living out of a hotel right now. He probably didn't pack his entire wardrobe for the trip. That's too much luggage. I'll cut him slack there, but the terminator sunglasses need to go.
