  1. And apparently, God has his own language. I said A god, not THE God. The real God would've hit a home run. But yeah, Soriano did sound like he was speaking in tongues.
  2. I can watch this video 100 times, and it never gets old. "What is he doing?!? Oh, come on Ozzie, get your money's worth!" What a tool.
  3. Unless the CSN crew somehow didn't have a 3rd base or a home plate camera, their failure to put up a replay inside of 15 or 20 seconds is inexcusible. The fact that they never showed the obstruction at all* is enough to make one wonder if they knew what had happened but decided to sit back and enjoy the carnage. Maybe they hate Hawk and DJ as much as we do. *I've only seen the youtube video, so if they showed it in the bottom of the 8th, or the 9th, I wouldn't know about it The only reason I can think of to not show the replay is they were all down in the truck laughing at Hawk and DJ, and they wanted to see where those two clowns would go with it.
  4. Ha, a Sox fan friend of mine used to post at WSI. He had me check it out one day. It's ridiculous. Every other post (literally) is about the Cubs, or references the Cubs, their fans, etc. A White Sox board should probably feature talk about the Sox, not the Cubs. Outside of this weekends series, you probably won't see many more Sox related threads, even in the Rivalries section. We don't play them anymore this year, so there's no reason to even bring them up. They don't see things that way on that board though.
  5. My sister lives in Denver and goes to games out there a lot. She said that Denver fans hate it when the Cubs come, because it turns into Wrigley Field West. They call the Cub fans obnoxious because they're outnumbered 4 or 5 to 1. The Cubs fans are obviously going to be louder when that is the case. If they don't like it, then Rockie's fans should just buy more tickets.
  6. I'd like to see those two broadcast a game that has no former or present Sox or Cubs players. That way they'd have no one to bow down to, and no one to hate. I think it'd just be 3 hours of dead air.
  7. I think the Sox were on Comcast today. The Cubs were on WGN. But you are right either way. He's embarrassing any station he is on. Yelling "That's BS!" is not exactly family programming, or unbiased announcing for that matter.
  8. I honestly don't understand how these two still have jobs. Even the Sox fans I know can't stand Hawk.
  9. Hahahaha, wow. These idiots just chose to completely disregard the obstruction call. Two children.
  10. Anyone else see Ozzie throw his line up card to his assistant coach as he was walking out to the umps? He walked out there intending on getting tossed from the game. No matter how that play was called though, one of the managers was coming out to argue. If it goes the Sox way, Sweet Lou probably comes out and throws a tantrum. But his tantrums are way more entertaining.
  11. Good, I need to see this. I was watching Len and Bob. I can't stand listening to those Sox homers.
  12. Yes, they have a change. I firmly believe the Brewers are not as good as they have been playing this year, and the Cubs aren't as bad as they've been playing. We have four huge series coming up where we can make up serious ground if we play well. 3 with Colorado, which just got swept. A key series with the Brewers at home. Then a road trip to Pittsburgh and Washington, where hopefully we can come out with a smile on our face. I think if they get close to the Brewers, they will take the division. [/eternal optimism]
  13. QFT Lee is the one guy I'd put the "untouchable" tag on if I'm the Cubs. He does too much, and is too valuable to this team both offensively and defensively. That'd be like the Cardinals trading Pujols, except that Lee is probably a better defensive player.
  14. I remember when many said Sosa was the cancer. So they got rid of him, and still didn't win. Pierzynski's been called a cancer on every team he's been on... but he's been on quite a few winning teams.
  15. I gave up on Theriot in my fantasy leagues a little while ago. I had a feeling his hot streak wouldn't hold up (but I was really hoping it would). And his steals cooled off as well, making him utterly useless in my leagues. I think Cedeno deserves another shot. He's hitting too well down there to not bring him up eventually. My only fear is that he might be a AAAA player, much like Jason Dubois. Good in AAA, bad in the majors. I'd wait for Ramirez to come back before we move anyone up though.
  16. I really hope Barrett goes on a tear for the rest of his career and makes everyone of his critics look foolish. For the record, I'm way against this trade. Barrett was one of my favorite Cubs. I really do wish him the best out there.
  17. You're killing my fantasy team you bum!
  18. Definitely. He looks like he goes out of his way to go around someone and waste a few seconds after Giles grabs Young. He probably realized his mistake and just wanted it to end quickly. The fight could've ended there had Peavy not jumped on DLee's back right after.
  19. Wood in the booth would be nice, but not for a few years. I'd like to see him back on the mound in a Cubs uniform for a few years first.
  20. And I'd never heard that story about Peavy and the airport. Wow, my opinion of him just changed dramatically. Anyone that's read the Paris Hilton thread knows I can't stand anyone that's ever uttered the phrase, "don't you know who I am?" to get their way. A buddy of mine is a cop down in Atlanta. He said a cop friend of his had the distinct pleasure of dealing with drunk Kyle Farnsworth one night (like myself and pretty much everyone else on this board has at one point). Apparently Farnsworth started an argument with someone that was about to escalate into a fight when the cop dragged him outside and told him to go home. Farnsworth was noticeably intoxicated. Then Farnsworth decided he was going to his car. And the cop walked right behind him saying, "If you open that car door, you're going to jail for a DUI." Then Farnsworth started berating the officer saying, "Do you have any idea who I am?!? I'm a Cubs pitcher! I'm a Cubs pitcher!" over and over again. The cop then said, "You're gonna be a Cubs pitcher on Fox news tomorrow morning if you get in that car." Lucky for Farnsworth, one of his friends saw this and came to his rescue. Threw him in a cab before Farnsworth had a chance to do anything else. Sorry to go off topic there, but the Peavy story reminded me of that.
  21. Someone called in WGN or the score closely afterward. He said his friend read his lips. . The pitcher (young right?) said. . . Young - Are you alright? Lee - Yeah (and even I could clearly see that in the replay) Young - Then take your base you #*@*#*@. Lee - What!? (again you can see this in the replay) Young - began to repeat himself before the punch. Lee reacted to the fact he almost got hit in the face, and then this fatso pitcher EGGS him on after hitting him in his previously injured wrist? If MLB could know the whole story fatso would get 3 missed starts and lee would get a day. . . . . if they were fair. . When I saw the replay the first couple of times, I could have sworn Young was saying "I wasn't throwing at you" right before Lee swung at him. I've watched the replay a couple of times too, and I thought I saw Young say, "I'll do it again" right before Lee swings at him. Either way, it doesn't matter what Young said because it obviously wasn't the answer Lee was looking for. It couldn't have been good.
  22. I'm kind of in shock that Peavy didn't get suspended. Did MLB choose to ignore his attempted take down of Derrek Lee after it appeared the fight was wrapping up? Did they ignore his comments in the newspaper? Do they think he developed ESP when he moved to the top step of the dugout right before everything got crazy? It's unfortunate that it happened. I still like Peavy as a player. I think he's one of the best, if not THE best pitcher in the game right now. And from everything I've read before last weekend, he seems to be a nice guy. But I guess when you're best friend and hunting buddy is Roy Oswalt, you're bound to run into trouble with the Chicago Cubs.
