  1. If Z can't handle media pressure in Chicago, the Yanks have to know that he'd fold in the intense scrutiny of the New York press. You don't want a headcase going to a pressure cooker like New York.
  2. No word yet on what is coming back to the Phils, but you'd have to imagine some prospects as this is more a salary dump than anything. http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/40656663/
  3. I wonder if there was ever any talk of him getting a no-trade clause in his negotiations. Dude has got to be sick of being traded.
  4. Exactly. This is a scenario where if the Cubs really wanted someone like Webb or Garza, they should have done everything possible to complete the deal quickly. I don't know why Hendry was fooling around, especially with Webb. He has to have medical records and input from doctors at this point. Either [expletive] or get off the pot. Now, if we do sign him, it's going to cost a hell of a lot more.
  5. It's still up in the air at this point. We lose, though, with or without Rodgers. If he sits, we lose by at least 3 touchdowns. It'll be a bloodbath.
  6. I don't care, he is #1 in my heart. Same here. I want him to retire a Cub.
  7. I guess for some strange reason he really loved his time in Philly when he was there in 2009.
  8. The only one that can contend would be one of the old Braves rotations of the 90's.
  9. I admire him for not signing for the most money, instead taking other factors into consideration. Not like he won't be paid a crapload in Philly, however.
  10. Ugh, biggest FA signing of the offseason, and ESPN has barely mentioned it before going back to endless Brett Favre verbal fellatio.
  11. Pick one.
  12. Ok, better roation 1-4: Halladay/Lee/Oswalt/Hamels or Maddux/Glavine/Smoltz/Avery?
  13. They are too worried about whether Greinke would hold up under the media pressure to trade for him IMO. Either way its still an after thought. I love seeing the yankees get burned. Grienke is probably too much of a headcase to thrive in New York.
  14. Why not? Pitching wins championships, and it's not like they have any trouble scoring runs.
  15. That's my pick. Don't even bother with the regular season.
  16. I wonder if Yankee fans being assholes to Cliff Lee's wife during the playoffs factored into his decision.
  17. I challenge anybody to name a better one.
  18. Ho-lee crap. Let the pants-crapping commence in the NL East.
  19. What if you figured Brandon Webb into the plate appearances? Would it change the outcome? What if he was moved up to the cleanup spot?
  20. If he signs with Philly he'll be young enough to cash in again in FA on maybe a 2 or 3 year deal before he retires. If Lee would sign with Philly, I could be the #5 starter in that rotation and they'd still win the pennant going away.
