  1. That would be my fix as well, but I doubt Dusty sees it that way. Wouldn't mind Neifi in late-inning duty, but I think Hairston is the odd man out with the Dusty dice.
  2. Well, until the next ROOKIE who registers takes your place, why, yes, yes you are a beer fetcher. We reserve the right to haze our newbies. It's a longstanding ritual here. The good news is you'll be able to tell the next ROOKIE to get YOU a beer. :D Just make sure you shake up the beer real well before giving it to BBB. Throw it up in the air and catch it a few times, roll the can along the floor... he loves that sort of thing. ;)
  3. Wood, Prior, Lee.... Just write this whole damn year off, call up a bunch of kids, and plan for 2007.
  4. HA HA HA HA Here's hoping we're on the winning end of the 13-10 outburst.
  5. 4 pitches, 3 outs. That right there is great plate management. Way to go, guys. You should be proud.
  6. you'd rather see bynum or blanco? can't Jones PH? I thought Baker said that he could PH if the game was on the line. Oh, perfect. Jacques "Babe Ruth" Jones up with the game on the line.
  7. Didn't Aramis start out cold last year, too?
  8. Barrett K's 6-7-8 due up in the 8th. Grrrrr. This makes tomorrows game important. Not a must-win, but you gotta take 2 of 3 from one of the worst teams in baseball, road or not.
  9. I will profess my undying love for Barrett in my sig if he can tie the game here.
  10. Popped up a 2-0 pitch. God dangit, Aramis.
  11. he was good. and he got a huge strike zone. Did Williams get the same huge zone?
  12. So was Duke really good today, or did the Cubs batters help him out?
  13. Single to center. Great AB by Hairston. Too bad that foul couldn't have been 15 feet to the right.
  14. First article... http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sports/stories.nsf/cardinals/story/D031950F5AFF53EF8625715000186471?OpenDocument
  15. But it's funnier as "flair". :) WOOOOOOOOO!!
  16. Boy, what a complete shame it would be if Izzy tanked and the Cards pen would be in shambles. I don't know if I could get over it.
  17. Even though the Pirates are 3-8 to start the season, they are one of the top 3 offense's statistically so far in the NL. The Cubs have to pitch well & they need Aram back in the line-up to have any chance to win this series. Expecting a sweep on the road, no matter who you play or what team you are is unrealistic. I didn't say a sweep. I said 2 out of 3.
  18. The Astros were the exception, not the rule. Games in April count the same in the standings as ones on July, August, or September. If the Cubs fall to 10 games under in May, they're done. The White Sox proved last year that a good April is nice if you're going to tank in September. Pittsburgh is playing like crap right now. The Cubs need to make sure they stay like that, and don't suddenly look like world beaters in this series. Expecting 2 out of 3 on the road against one of the worst teams in baseball is not an unreasonable expectation.
  19. I'm sure the smaller ballparks of today have something to do with it. What are you comparing it to? Five years ago? Twenty years ago? Fifty?
  20. Not as good as it used to be, but still pretty funny.
  21. He's not going to become a Gold Glover overnight. Give him time. He'll get better.
