I'd love to take 3 of 4 with the Pirates coming to town. This could be one of those stretches we talk about in late September as really the "turning point" of the season.
If the tickets were cheap enough and I had nothing better to do, it might be an OK way to spend an evening. I still couldn't care any less than I do now about soccer, though. It's not humanly possible.
It really doesn't get much simpler than craps Of course, I've only played it a few times. I don't really care enough to learn it, though. Maybe once I get enough money to where I can gamble some away, but I don't see that coming for quite a while.
idiot Link: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/wire?section=mlb&id=3396277 Oh god. A "he played well against us here. OMG let's sign him now!" deal. He was playing against Cubs pitching, Jim. That's why he was so good at Wrigley. Now he won't be facing Cubs pitching. This same rationale was used for signing Jeff Blauser and look at how that turned out.
If (and that's a big if) we win tonight, I guarantee Peavy won't be tacked with the L. If we can't score more than 3 runs off of Estes, Peavy ought to shut us out fairly easily.
I know, only the Cubs could lose to a pitcher they didn't even face. Oh my god. I meant Shawn Estes. I must have crappy pitchers on the brain tonight. And I'm sure Rusch could have beaten us, too. I was confusing Estes with Rusch all night. I'm going away now.
