  1. I don't mind letting our power hitters swing away. It's called hitting not walking, dude.
  2. LOL. He would probably be fired that day. Man, I miss Harry. Some of my best memories as a kid involve a Cubs game on WGN called by Harry and Steve.
  3. I hope not, he's terrible. Keith Moreland or leave it as-is.
  4. Nice wheels, Starlin. Whats his projection for steals over a full season?
  5. Note to self: Take immediate trip to Majestic Star Casino to experience the loose... ..what's that. Slots? Nevermind.
  6. Gotta stretch him out. I have a feeling he's going to be fast tracked back to the rotation after tonight. I thought I had heard rumors he was going to go back there soon anyway.
  7. no But essentially what is the difference? Leaving early was seen as "giving up on your team", even though it was the last day of the season and the Cubs were mathematically eliminated. Sammy was still a superstar player, and he was crucified for it. Hanley almost walking after that ball is giving up on the play, therefore hurting your team in a game that matters. Yet he shouldn't face the same criticism? How is his offense any better than Sammy's?
  8. The players have to be held accountable for their actions, and crap like this needs to be stopped ASAP. We all saw what happened when Dusty lost control of the team. No manager should ever let it get to that point. Hanley loafed, was punished, spoke out against his manager and is now going to apologize. Hopefully the Marlins handled it internally. And you have to treat Hanley like anyone else and can't give him special treatment because of his abilities. Are the same people who think this the same people who crucified Sammy for leaving early on the last day of the '04 season?
  9. No, but I'd expect them to play like they give a damn. They can play hard, or they can sit on the bench. If they don't want to play hard, there are plenty of other people behind them just itching to play every day and take their spot. Especially if he gets lippy and badmouths the manager in the press. I agree with his benching, and if he'd loaf like that again, he'd sit for the rest of the game and all of the next one.
  10. wanna put money on it I love Marlon, I really do, but I don't see this as much more than posturing. After all, what is he supposed to say? "We suck and we're not going anywhere"? If he guarantees a playoff berth and is completely serious he's on something more powerful than Ozzy Osbourn could have ever dreamed of.
  11. Women and children will be advised not to watch. This one is going to get brutal in a hurry.
  12. Watched the video. That was even worse than I thought. He'd have been a little bit lighter in the paycheck if I were his manager.
  13. But then that would hurt their precious, fragile feelings.
  14. Been doing that for a couple of years now... Oh, you mean Prior Classy. You can't hate me that much if you refuse to ignore me.
  15. The Cubs and Rockies always have at least one crazy game each year. Could tonight be it?
  16. Erik guarantees a drug arrest for Mr. Byrd sometime soon.
  17. I support the manager's decision. Hanley needs to shut up. You're paid millions of dollars. At least act like you give a [expletive].
  18. Dusty just couldn't do his job because of racism among cub fans. Just ask him he'll tell you. And, you know, he couldn't use any white guys in the summer because black people are more accustomed to the sun, or something like that. That was dumb even for Dusty.
  19. Mark Prior must have been a serial killer in a past life to be treated like this. Damn.
  20. In March I was debating getting the MLB.tv package again this year. Glad I saved my hundred bucks.
  21. I think most know the pitcher has to employ his strategy. It's an excuse to boo the opposing team, so they boo. I've got no problem with it I only boo when the pitcher is obviously stalling and throws over there 3 or 4 times before throwing the next pitch.
