    He had much better command than he has had. think he got really lucky with 2 calls on the first hitter (sogard, iirc?) I thought the called 3rd strike was low but with two strikes, that pitch was perfect. I'd rather see it there than 6 inches higher.

    What the horsefeathers is this? horsefeathers off. Youre clueless He hasn't made anyone miss yet in a game and a half. He's got no explosiveness so far. I don't know if he's playing through something or what, but he hasn't been good this year. Agreed, he hasn't run any different than what seen from Cedric as a large bodied back with no speed and can't shift or break tackles.

    Glennon can't come out for the 2nd half. Not being at home might be the only thing that saves him. This defense is gassed and injured. Bad combo when you already lack talent.

    The market value for moving up 1 slot was worth what they gave up. 5 of the top 6 teams in the draft needed a QB. The only bitching I will do about Trubisky is if they keep Sanchez and keep 3 QBs active.

    I want them to jump the gun and pay DeJong because his crash is going to be even worse than Grichuk. I feel obligated to root for Dejong given that I know him & he went to my High School. It makes it hard, when my teammate played for the Tigers, that was easy.

    People who think Maddon is a good in-game manager are sadly mistaken. Fwiw, Rays' fans complained more about the revolving lineups than anything else.

    I was also at the Beloit game Sunday (my first low A game in over 30 years). Certainly not much to talk about from an offensive standpoint. Wilson ran down a couple of nice balls in center. I wish they had a radar gun so we could have seen some pitch speeds. Wilson has some Corey Patterson to his game, bad approach and all. Of course, Patterson was the MWL MVP and Wilson has struggled. Wilson has too much of an uppercut swing right now, he has solid bat speed but the angle is hurting him

    From Beloit: M. Rondon, the best way to describe him is that he is good without being good. 90-94FB, decent but not great arm side run. Flashed a solid change and below avg slider. With 2 ml pitches and very clean mechanic, you'd expect more. But, there is no deception whatsoever, it's coming to the hitter like a beach ball. The only others of note are Wilson and Parades, who I would give marginal grades to with Parades getting a high marginal and Wilson a low marginal. Please send the LB back to Boise St. I know there's rust but that spot should go to someone deserving.

    Yes, he's by far the best position prospect I've seen in 13 years. Odorizzi and Folty are the best pitchers I've seen but at this point, Kelenic is higher than him, IMO.

    Given that I haven't done cool things like have a child or get married, seeing this in person was the single greatest moment of my life I'm doomed to never have sex because I realize that Sublime is garbage, but I figure this is pretty much the same thing. Keener said something similar before things got weird.

    Against what is probably the best college baseball team in history. Good to see. Better than the AA caliber talent he faced in the SEC?

    I agree with IMB, Gray and his health history, impending FA, good but not great peripherals doesn't merit giving a package based around Eloy. The one I go after is Archer, hopefully Tampa (for the Cubs' sake) falls off. I'm for gutting the system for him but everyone else (Pitt and CWS not included) doesn't merit the same move.
