Well, for one thing, 10% of the starts he would have made in the regular season are now gone. For another, I assume the reports that the Braves don't want someone who isn't enthused about playing for them are true. Of course the Braves will say they have moved on, it is part of being a good negotiator. Bottom line is if they wanted Demptser for Delgado a few days ago they still want it now and are just playing on the hesitation to see if they can get a better deal. They probably wanted Greinke more anyway but now that he is gone they will want to move on Demptster again if he is now going to approve the deal. As far as fans and Braves players being pissed, all he has to do is say he is sorry but he had some personal things to get in order and now he has done that and is excited to be able to finally be able to join a great organization like the Braves and play for his good friend blah, blah, blah. Everyone will forget all about the rest once he makes his first start.
