Vitters isn't going to sweeten anything, and Olt is far more valuable than anything the Yankees are likely to include in a Soriano trade (although I'd love to be wrong on that). IMO we shouldn't be trading young, low cost guys for more prospects that eventually can become other young, low cost guys. If the Yankees want a "sweetener" they can take Ransom, not guys that can actually help the Cubs win down the road.

That was the CUBS 3rd sac bunt in their last 24 games. What do you think ? I think it was a dumb idea either way.

I guess he was complaining about the strike zone but we have seen a lot worse home plate umpires recently so not sure why he was so aggravated tonight.

Whatever the Dodgers sent Marmol to AA to fix must still be broken based on his debut tonight.

I don't see any way that another team would give enough value for Valbuena that it would be worth moving him. He seems like a useful piece off the bench going forward even if he loses his starting spot. Barney is damaged goods with the way he is hitting so it would be selling low which again seems pointless right now.

or you can just trade brett jackson or something I think at least two of Borbon, Bogusevic, Gillespie become redundant when Sweeney and DeJesus come back since they will probably also have Schierholtz, Sappelt and Lake still hanging around unless someone is traded in which case that would clear a spot anyway.

The bad news is if all those guys are in AAA it means we most likely will need to suffer through a Rusin start every 5 days for the big league team.
