I don't know how you could depend on williamson since he hasn't played in a year plus doesn't it usually take a half season for these guys to get back to true form? I'm looking at williamson coming back as a tune up for 2006 and not much more. Nomar....can he do much worse than perez? probably not....

This is odd, ESPN News cut in with "Breaking News" to say Manny would not be traded this year. Perhaps they are giving him the day off? I love that!!! the BREAKING NEWS is there is no news!!!

Thanks Penguin -- its more for the sanity of the forum than for me though -- it would get nuts if new threads were created with every update we're getting as the deadline approaches. Just thought it was an important update for those not reading the Manny threads. My bad. Penguin, I thought you were right on...I wouldn't have read this or been interested had there not been a new thread...thank you

not on topic for this thread but I like it when a new thread is created when something changes....personally wading through the drivel of 22 pages of posts to find an update makes this site alot less friendly. seriously, we could have traded for dunn and I wouldn't know cause its a pain in the a^$ to page through 26 pages of people arguing over irrelevant stuff.

I agree with this, when I first saw it, it was fairly obvious he kept his foot up on purpose. I'm not saying he was intending to spike barajas but he was trying to kick the ball out. I thought barajas handled it very well but when I saw the clip i remember thinking "barajas is gonna be more pissed when he sees this replay"

Johnny B. Baker is an imbecile. He's an abomination as a manager, and it's a disgrace that the man gets paid millions of dollars to manage a baseball team. I'd take Jim Riggleman over the guy... I'd like to see the cubs steal Ned Yost away from Milwaukee, he does phenominal things with rookies and no namers....

Oh my trade still has to clear the veto, I think it will, the rating system actually has hudson ranked lower than pierzynski in total value so that will save me in "fairness" Speaking of young, that whole infield for texas are fantasy studs and will be for years....I would LOVE to be John Hart, I don't know if he knew what he was getting when he drafted tex, bla, and young....

This has already been accepted but I didn't think he would take it when I proposed it: I get: Scottie Po Hudson He gets: Burrell Pierzynski My lineup is: Piazza Dunn Utley Rollins Arod Cabrera Griffey Jr. Burrell (now Pod) Delgado Pitchers: Maddux Smoltz Burnett Penny Washburn Millwood Patterson Loaiza Hampton Turnbow Wagner I had too many Phillies in my offense so when they had bad stretches I did really bad and I need more runs and SB. I figured Piazza is starting to turn around and is almost identical to Pierzynski.....I'm very excited about this trade....should I be or am I missing something?

I for one will never understand the loyalty that some fans feel toward this guy. Yes he put up some fantastic numbers, but that is what he is paid to do. He had a lot to do with reviving baseball in alot of peoples minds and for that he was and will be rewarded (with a place in the hall). But I'm sure he didn't feel any loyalty toward us in his final season (let alone his final game), to most players this is a business, maybe I'm too cynical but the Ron Santos of the world just don't exist anymore..... (please don't make the point that Santo does in fact still exist....you know what I mean... :P )

Are bodyslams tracked in your league? And to the guy that had never seen the Farns-Wilson fiasco... if you go back to the MLB game recap from whatever day that happened, there should be a link to the video on that page. At least there used to be last season, so I would assume that it's still there. This says it has the video but I can't get it to work....maybe you have to subscribe to something? It works, thanks. Good then it must just be me.... :)
