  1. I don't see how you are top twenty without Selby, who would be the point guard? Tyshawn Taylor? Probably Elijah Johnson and Taylor will be responsible for handling the ball. Still have a talented front line with both Morrises, Robinson, and Withey. w/o Selby PG Johnson/Taylor SG Reed/Morningstar SF Releford/Little PF McMorris/Robinson C MkMorris/Withey w/ Selby I'm not sure who gets bumped. I'd like to see Morningstar start to get phased out. He does a lot of nice things, but I feel like he's been a bit of a liability at the end of both seasons.
  2. I think we'll likely be top 20 w/o Selby, too. If we grab Selby, we could be very good.
  3. I don't know how good UT will be. If we get Selby, we should be pretty good.
  4. Interesting. I hadn't seen that he didn't visit. I'd still put them ahead of UT. I've been researching this UT talk. They might be a bigger player right now than I thought.
  5. No, marc maggard is a joke. Doesn't mean he's wrong, but he's not very credible. And no, Selby never visited UK. He was supposed to early this month but never made it. After missing his visit, he annouonced he would make his decision at the Jordan game. Per Scout:
  6. I have him pegged to go to UK, but KU would be my 2nd guess. I find it very unlikely he'll got to UT. He won't end up at Iowa for fear of being lost in all that talent. Selby to UK seems like a stretch since he never took his official visit there. Also, I think Brandon Knight will go to UK, and I doubt Selby will want to play with him. I think it's down to Zona and KU with Tennessee as a darkhorse. As far as Kanter goes, it will be interesting to see how quickly/if he'll see the court. A lot of coaches backed off of him because they don't think he'll be cleared to play by the NCAA.
  7. hardly a curbstomp. I think we get Selby.
  8. Actually his favorites are Kansas and Alabama from what I've heard. There's a a lot of talk he'll go to college if he's not in the top 3 rounds. He says he really wants to go to school. I think the money will talk, though. I don't think Kansas is one of his favorites. I know one of his baseball coaches and from what I heard his family was really excited about one scholly offer. That totally contradicts everything I've read. His family is allegedly a huge KU family, and he loved Gill. Who did you hear he was psyched about?
  9. I didn't think anything would make me laugh today, but you did it. Glad I could accomodate you, even had the Illini made the tournament they wouldn't have been around long. NIT whatever, I could give a rat's ass, what is important is the Illini getting more playing time setting up 2011- maybe if you make the NIT FF you can hang a banner.

  11. It's a weird feeling to know you have the best team and not get a chance to play for the championship. But the fact is, we looked terrible. And Collins played an awful game. We had so many moments to crack through. If Henry would have hit those FTs to bring us to within one, I think UNI cracks and we win the game. Instead, he clanged the front end. And we never did figure out that they were going to slide in for charges the entire game.
  12. i had a bad feeling about these guys when i saw the bracket. sucks.
  13. They won't make this many threes all game. this feels like a loss
  14. i dont like the feel of this game
  15. From the sound of it he's staying enrolled for the spring semester, but as for the fall, he hasn't said anything. There have been rumors that he'd want to go to K-State along with his brother, so that could be it. Here's a story on it. Bill Snyder sure knows how to get transfers. I think he's gonzo. Good pickup for KSU.
  16. Is Bryce Brown leaving Tennessee?
  17. I saw a full season's worth of SEC basketball. Where do you have Kentucky at? I have them losing in the EE. I dislike them so much, though, that I'm not sure how rational I am when evaluating them.
  18. not a great showing tonight. Makes me very nervous about UNI.
  19. I saw a full season's worth of SEC basketball.

  21. That is quite a few minutes, although not as bad as most programs that lose 3 starters. Someone did this comparison after the the regular season, and I'm going to shamelessly steal it here. The numbers you see are star ratings from rivals. Crude, but a decent(and accessible) measure. This year: Kansas K-State Mizzou Collins 5 Clemente 3 Taylor 2 Henry 5 Pullen 3 Ramsey 3 Aldrich 4 Kelly 5 English 3 McMorris 4 Samuels 3 Tiller 3 Taylor 4 Sutton 4 Bowers 3 Morningstar 3 Colon 3 Denmon 3 MkMorris 4 McGruder 4 Safford 3 Reed 3 Judge 5 Dixon 3 Henry 3 Irving 3 Paul 3 Robinson 4 H-Roberts 3 Moore 3 TOTAL 39 TOTAL 36 TOTAL 29 Kansas K-State Mizzou Johnson 5 Russell 3 Mitchell 5 Releford 4 Pullen 3 Pressey 4 Little 4 Kelly 5 English 3 McMorris 4 Samuels 3 Underwood 3 Taylor 4 Sutton 4 Bowers 3 Morningstar 3 Asprilla 3 Denmon 3 MkMorris 4 McGruder 4 Safford 3 Reed 3 Judge 5 Dixon 3 Henry 3 Irving 3 Paul 3 Robinson 4 H-Roberts 3 Moore 3 TOTAL 38 TOTAL 36 TOTAL 33 Now obviously not all stars are created equal, and development/maturity makes a very large difference. Still, I'd wager next year will be the first year in a long while Kansas has had a couple teams this close in these terms. Next year: I don't really disagree. Next year will be everybody's best chance to supplant KU. If we get Selby, Knight, or Lamb, it'll be harder, but we'll be vulnerable.
  22. Wisconsin/Temple was easily the most difficult matchup for me to pick, cause I had the winner beating Kentucky regardless of who it was. Maybe I'm colored by the game KU played against them, but I have a hard time believing that team will beat UK. Granted, we played one of our best games, and they played one of their worst, but I'm not sold.
  23. Wisconsin doesn't feel like a Final Four team to me at all.
  24. K-State will take a hit if Pullen leaves early. That'll open things up a bit for Mizzou. I don't think Kim English will be as disappointing as he was this season. And Marcus Denmon will definitely improve. Who do you guys lose? Tiller, Taylor, and Ramsey? That's a lot of minutes. Pressey and Mitchell will be big talent upgrades though.
  25. Who's Asprilla? I don't remember him at all. Personally, I'd get Judge and Samuels on the court as much as possible.
