Yet he's already spent two years on an NBA roster. Other comparably ranked Weber players include #49 Brian Carwell (Did he survive his stint at UI? I mean "survive" literally.) ANd Brian Randle (#53). WTG BAM! But I'm sure you would rather have him than Self. I've only seen you and IG bitch about wishing Bill had never left about 700 times. So he's a freshman now? I don't mean to be naive, and I know junior high kids or younger are drawing attention now. But it still makes me uncomfortable. He's a sophomore now. Of all the things to make you feel uncomfortable about Kansas recruiting, getting sophomores in HS to committ should be pretty far down the list. If Weber weren't making a living duping 8-year-olds into committing to UI, I guarantee you'd be railing against Self for it. Na, Weber just says he I can help turn you into Deron Williams. Bill can help turn you into Julian Wright or one of the other 5 stars he's got who amounted to crap at the next level. KU picked up a verbal from 2012 PF Zach Peters out of Plano, TX. Probably not a super elite prospect, more in the top 50-75 of his class when it's all said and done. My guess is he doesn't see much time till his JR/SR year, a la Darnell Jackson. But--and Sulley is gonna love this one--his best friend and teammate is likely a top 5 guy in 2013.

No. I think there's always a chance CMA bolts. If the Tigers perform like I think they will over the next two seasons, it'll be hard to keep him at his current price. Is Arkansas Anderson's dream job being a Nolan Richardson disciple? Hard to say. He might relish the chance to succeed his mentor there, or he might not want anything to do with the school that ran his mentor out on a rail. Given his current situation, there'd probably need to be a lot of other incentive to take the job since it's in a worse conference and doesn't have much to offer in terms of program prestige or current talent(that's why they'd be hiring Anderson). I don't think there's very much animosity remaining btw Arkansas and Richardson anymore. I believe I read somewhere the school has made a ton of overtures to Nolan recently. Could be wrong, though. As far as program prestige, I'd put Arkansas above Missouri. Neither school has much of a national reputation for hoops (arkansas used to, but it has faded), but I think Arkansas carries a little clout regionally. Both offer similar advantage in that they're the only big schools in their state. It will also be easier to win in Ark, since their conf sucks. But it would be a reset unlike Mizzou, where he has a little momentum.

That's how I was looking at it too. Didn't see much hope for next season without him. It all depends on the growth of Releford and Johnson, too. If those guys make a leap--which is hardly a stretch--we'll be dangerous. Not MSU or Duke (if Singler stays) dangerous, but we'll have a shot.

Grabbing Selby was huge. Puts us back in the National Title conversation, though probably on the fringe.

I never saw UK as a real player for Selby. (more worried about UT) He never even visited the campus, despite having several opportunities. (Of course, who knows. It's Cal, so maybe he does end up there anyway.) Lamb does sound UK bound. Not so sure about Leslie. he said he wants to visit UF before making a choice. And IG is right. Rivals might have Knight as the #1 player (though there are rumors they'll put Selby there for the final rankings), but the best player in the class is Harrison Barnes. I've been pretty underwhelmed by Knight in the games I saw him play. Not that he isn't good. Just that he's a bit overhyped.

I think those fathers are doing their kids a disservice. Not that they can't make the NBA out of the MAC or Horizon (and not that there aren't good teams in both leagues), but you have to assume they'll get better preparation (and def better exposure) in a high major league.

That seems like a stretch. Probably depends on what you consider a Championship contender. If they don't get any flops out of Mitchell, P Pressey, and Ratliffe, they'll be bringing back a very talented and extremely deep roster, that would probably be considered a Top 10 team. I'd caution people against having super high expectations for JUCO bigs. They are real hit or miss. For every Taj Gray or JP Batista, there are a million guys who do squat. Also, with the advent of prep schools, the talent at JUCOs isn't nearly as impressive. Today's JUCO POTY just ain't what he used to be.
