No, they have 6 to give, 7 if Selby leaves. (Morningstar, Reed, Little, Morris, Morris, Teahan, Selby). Self has just swung and missed on essentially every recruit he's tried to get this year. He only wants to use 4 this year, so the best case scenario is McLemore, Tharpe, Porter, and Deandre Daniels. But I think Porter still goes to MU, and I think Daniels goes to Duke. In that case, you have Tharpe, McLemore, and the 2 warmest bodies they can turn up. And our frontcourt next year becomes Robinson, Withey, and...well that's about it.

lmao. that should be his bio at KUathletics. I still think he could be a good player if he stuck around. He was dinged up this year, which hurt his mobility. But yeah, I think rivals swung and missed rating him the #1 prospect.

Yep, the Morris twins are gone. Never would've thought they would go league early when we first got them. Should be an interesting year next year for KU hoops.

He won't. Drug use, two fights with teammates, and failed classes. No way. Enjoy Europe. Maybe he and Selby can go halvsies on a Frommer's Guide as they begin their overseas careers.

both guys stepped into a pretty large shadow in their respective jobs. it's hard to believe that couldn't identify with one another just a little bit.

weber went all spazzy when he came in (bill self is not walking through that door) and dee and deron threatened transfer. it may have been the right thing to do at the time, but self probably didn't appreciate it. He did the interview too where he said he was 2-0 against Self. Even though they were 1-1 at that point. Weber kind of claimed he outcoached Bill, that and the funeral. If Self hates Weber (and I doubt the feelings are that strong; he probably just thinks he's sort of a putz), I don't think it has much to do with the funeral. I think it had more to do with Weber saying he's whipped Self's butt in the two meetings. Weber also accused Self of not coaching the Illini up (the famous "You can't even do a left-handed layup" line to Dee), and he said Self was more interested in being the players' buddy than their coach. Personally, I never saw the big deal with the funeral gambit. Why should Self be offended by that? But the other stuff was a direct insult to Self as a coach, and I'm sure he wasn't too fond of that.

You can always recruit more Aqib Talib's! I wish we could. Dude's one of the best young CBs in the Texas Penitentiary League. I've been trying to figure out where all this was coming from. (I know Talib has had some problems before, but it seemed sort of random.) But I just saw the news story about him. Oh, Aqib.

With tOSU and Auburn going down, the timing is looking better and better for KU to step right in and fill the power void. Now we just need 115 more programs to be slammed with penalties.

How do Mizzou people feel about Smart? He'll obviously be a hot name. His system works well with the players at Mizzou, though I don't think their bigs have the required range. And Mizzou fans will feel doubly justified in their purchase of VCU gear. Is he the likely next target? Is he more likely to stay on the east coast?

I don't think it's a coincidence that all of USC, Georgetown, Purdue, Florida State, and Kansas had a lot of trouble scoring. KU bricked a ton of open threes. Maybe they were tired because VCU was running, but I think it had more to do with those guys sucking for a day than VCU laying down the clamps. However, VCU did do a nice job of packing the lane once they saw Reed's first five rim-wrecking bricks almost damage the building's infrastructure.

not sure what you mean. Should be a bigger story. Everyone had ameltdown when they were even let in the tourney. ANd they played an extra game in the tourney. And they've beaten only major conference teams. And with the exception of FSU, they've kind of pounded them (I dont remember the score of the USC game.) It's pretty crazy.
