  1. That's what happens when you play for the Royals. or when you are out of baseball for a year. Same thing, amirite? The Royals are arguably the 2nd best franchise in American League history. amirite? Athletics.
  2. Can't you get them via antenna? If I actually had one. It would be a nice investment, as WCIU isn't going anywhere anytime soon. As a bonus, WGN's HD broadcasts would look better OTA.
  3. You don't have SportsSouth, or whatever channel the Braves games are on these days? Peachtree TV.
  4. Where is your cable system based? The Reds claim Charlotte, so that could be effing you up.
  5. Another gentleman devised this one. http://s6.photobucket.com/albums/y210/Dymaxion/bleachers.gif

  7. Blocking one hideous ad with another hideous ad is not an improvement. This would be much more obnoxious and intrusive, as it's an illuminated/animated board in the style of the ribbons on the upper deck facade.
  8. The ESPN Radio MLB rain delay filler programming is permanently set on a Game 6 rebroadcast. Someone in Bristol is a sick bastard.
  9. This is a glorious day.
  10. Just got the offer from the ticket office. I can't believe it.
  11. This is scary-good news for me. I haven't received an email yet, but based on my proximity to you on the list I have to assume I'm way closer than I imagined possible.
  12. FYI, as I recall the "call" will come via email. So keep a close eye on the account you have registered with the wait list. Congratulations.

  14. With some ~700 Tribster tickets opening up, someone like 5412 should get the call soon. I'm somewhere around 2,600 now. Have any of you seen any movement? Are any current season ticket holders seeing significant upgrade opportunities?
  15. Jenkins is meddling in affairs that don't concern him. Where's his open letter to the Cubs prospects he ruined while serving as pitching coach? Maybe Kevin Foster would still be alive if Jenkins had only taught him the ways of Seaver, Gibson, Drysdale and Carlton.
  16. Numbers in baseball are meaningless to blind fans I suppose.
  17. Of course Selig wants the Cubs to remain ... someone has to buy up those tickets to Maryvale! (And Phoenix Municipal, and Surprise, and Peoria, and Tuscon Electric ...)
  18. A Cubs HOF has been specified by TPTB since the first mentions of a "triangle building" back in 2001.
  19. Piniella said the docs didn't think he would need the surgery initially.
  20. The project parameters are still being hammered out with the city. Lots of the usual neighborhood handwringing can be found here: http://www.belmontharborneighbors.com/ShowArticle.aspx?ID=314&AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1 As an out-of-town visitor, I would be thrilled to have access to a quality hotel this close to the ballpark. http://www.addisonparkonclark.com/ http://www.addisonparkonclark.com/images/proposed3.jpg http://www.addisonparkonclark.com/images/proposed4.jpg http://www.addisonparkonclark.com/images/proposed1_101509.jpg http://www.addisonparkonclark.com/images/052809_2.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y225/southfork76/height3_large.jpg
  21. Because after all, they are "The Best (blindly loyal) Fans in Baseball." Isn't it about time for Sammy to follow McLiar's lead and apologize to the fans for his use of steroids and HGH, the corked bat, leaving the park during the game, alienating his teammates, etc? Why is he in hiding? Apologize? For peeling these franchises off the mat and making them relevant again? Sosa played thirteen seasons for the Cubs, yet the 'roid truthers just want to remember 6/3/03 and 9/25/04. Never mind that he led the team out of the darkest days of 1994 and to a level of popularity only dreamed about previously. I'm grateful for what these men did. I remember what MLB was like from '95-'97. Reality is this: Mark Grace (and Jack Clark) didn't sell tickets.
