Anything they can do to get attention is what they will do. His willingness to go along with it makes him complicit and you can go horsefeathers yourself too.

    It seems like more and more inflation at the trade deadline means the Cubs should not be holding back large sums of cash. If the opportunity presents itself just find a way to get something done.

    If we say they’ve treaded water and they get a 50th percentile outcome they should be in the 90 win range. If they’ve gotten better they should be 90+. Not everyone needs to have a career year. They’re a good team, how much better or worse is anyone’s guess.

    It’s all a value judgement based on relative relationship to one’s own perspective. But, we all need to do some reflecting on our values. The fact that he left the team to go to a political rally sanctifying a man who made a living by literally being a walking ass hole is a problem for me. Kirk said many things that any fair person would call inflammatory to say the least. He took pleasure in cruelty and called it Christian values. From my perspective, that is a character flaw well within in the range of jackass. Or at least reveals an unexamined life. if he gets hits and plays well I’ll be happy in the same way I was about Chapman on the Cubs.

    Lots of sour grapes. Anyone think the Ricketts would behave this way if the role was reversed? A cap isn’t going to benefit competition, it’s only going to benefit the owners.

    It's almost unfair how smart the Dodgers are and how great the ownership is. There are 0 reasons why Tucker shouldn't be on the Cubs even with Bregman. They choose to be ass holes.

    I'm not a really big fan of HOF stuff. I think he's a lock, but not a first-ballot one. Multi-gold glover, platinum glover, good power numbers. He was considered the best 3B in MLB for at least 5 years.

    I don’t buy any of that horsefeathers. Everyone is different. You don’t need everyone to be a leader. They could think he was goldbricking at the end of the season, who knows, but he’s a damn fine baseball player and will mash the ball for whoever signs him. There’s no reason to denigrate a guy. The owners are horsefeathers horsefeatherss.

    I really wanted to like Shaw the person when he was drafted. He said all the right things. But he is a douchebag's douchebag. Be that as it may, he's a useful baseball player who will likely get better. The Cubs have a perfect "waves" scenario with him and Nico. There is no reason to trade him or Nico. Let the season play out, give him reps, and see what happens. If they find they need someone at the deadline, he or Nico could be traded. But it would be foolish to trade either one right now. As long as nobody else he idolizes who is also a neo-Nazi gets shot, we will be good.

    Get over the cheating horsefeathers. Baseball players have been cheating since Old Hoss Radbourn hawked a loogie on a Spalding and made it dance. There are guys cheating now, and we won't know about it until someone finds out. Just get over it.

    The kind of posts drive me horsefeathers nuts. If you like the player, who cares how much they are paying him? Maybe he balls out for three years and helps the Cubs win a WS then he sucks ass for two. The sucking doesn't negate the great. Too many people think they are too smart and are paying the contracts.
