Not really against this post, but why do people continue to give these projections when they are off by so much every year? The Cubs will very likely win the division walking away, but if they win it with 84 wins, something will have gone very wrong. The Cubs won the division in 2007 with 85 wins. The last time a team had less than that and won was 1997.

No one is happy in this country except maybe one person and his personal grift factory. He sets the tone. He's a lout, a dry drunk, an ignoramus who glories in his own stupidity. And so was it with this team, blasting Toby Keith and talking about destroying every team, because that's who we are as Americans. And on and on. And don't confuse this with hating America. I served this country as a Peace Corps volunteer because that's what we should stand for. We should strive to fulfill the ideas embedded in the Constitution and all the other things we say we stand for. So all you MAGA humpers and lurkers who are afraid to really say what you mean can piss off.

Let's also remember there is no reason why a human should be calling balls and strikes in the first place. One can't get bent out of shape when they make an error, and also want them to call balls and strikes. I think in this case, the ump got blocked out by the catcher while the ball was traveling, and when he made his decision, the ball was in the zone, but that was before it crossed the plate. There was some anticipation in the call.

The McCaskey’s are the same as the Ricketts without the obvious political stench. They have all the money they need to run a 1st-class operation and pay for a brand-new stadium. They'd rather get someone else to pay for that. These owners are wealthy beyond our comprehension, but when they measure themselves against others wealthy beyond our comprehension, they aren't the wealthiest, as if that even matters from a practical standpoint.

I don't think giving unlimited challenges would harm anything, and I don't think it would be abused. I read the overturn rate was slightly 50%. Think about how often they are wrong when they don't get challenged on close calls.

The French Open is the ONLY professional tennis tournament that still uses line judges. Sometimes AI gives you wrong advice. The ATP and WTA tours do not use a human line judge. Neither does Wimbledon, the US Open, or the Australian Open.

They should have unlimited challenges until they do away with umpires calling balls and strikes. It's stupid. We have this highly accurate system, but we are still relying on humans who are less reliable. Tennis did away with it long ago, and you don't even hear about it anymore.

I think it would mean more younger players get long term contracts. But overall less money means just that.

Yes, that is the occipital lobe back there. He could get vision problems for life if he got hit. But I'm kind of thinking this is some AI creation.

The first year he came to the Cubs, he had about the best ST, I've ever seen a pitcher have. I don't think he walked anyone and just looked dominating (I use to be able to watch games). Then he came out to start the season and shat the bed. ST is so weird. The good thing with Jamo is that you sort of know what you are going to get right off the start. When he's bad, he's really bad.
