    Are you ####ING KIDDING ME??? MACIAS? Sweet lord. GOD. He is such an idiot. WHY IN THE HELL is Macias playing over Hairston, and WHY IN THE HELL is Neifi playing over cedeno. GOOD LORD. I think it is pretty clear that Dusty does not like Hairston. Maybe his dad did something to Baker. I cannot understand it at all.

    He surely did build a mess didn't he? Ramirez and Lee in the corner infielder spots just hasn't worked out. Neither has HIS idea of Dempster in the closer position. Of course that recent trade of Hawkins for Aardsma and Jerome Williams....that's been a real clunker too. What is the record of the Cubs TEAM? What has Williams or Aardsma brought to this TEAM? How do you know it was Hendry's idea to use Dempster as a closer? About 20 people here suggested it last year. When one evaluates the Cubs TEAM one needs to look at the big picture. IMO Hendry hasn't done enough and I think the results pretty much speak for themselves.

    And they are the consummate company men! Imagine how bad it really must be now. Exactly. It is time to seperate the keepers from the cast-offs. Cast-off #1a and #1b has to be Baker and Rothschild. They need to see who has value and who doesn't and start building for next year and beyond. I also wouldn't object that much if Hendry was fired as well. He built this mess.

    If the Astros acquire Dunn I don't see how their window is shutting. If anything it is opening. They have: Berkman, Taveras, Ensberg, Backe, Oswalt, Pettitte (a little past his prime), Everett, Lane, Lidge, and Duckworth. If Dunn is added that is a pretty decent nucleus on which to build.

    I know it won't happen but earlier today I was thinking. The ASB would be the perfect time to fire Baker and his staff if this poor play continues. Right after the last game. Then the team could start over like it is the begining of the year.

    As Chevy Chase would say, "Don't sell 'em short that are a very shabby team." I kid. I know it's been said before and will be again, but what this team needs is a change at the top. Not the top of the batting order but at the top of the dugout steps, that Mr. Baker and Mr. Rothschild. Dick Pole has to go too. They should fire everyone. Send a message. This team has the players to be a playoff calibur team and they haven't played like it for a year and a half. It is time for a change.

    With the ASB approaching what Corey needs is to get away from baseball for a few days. The Cubs should find a way to place him on the DL for about a week. Right now his problems are as much mental as they are physical. I really feel bad for him.

I'M TELLING YOU....HE'S GOT A RADIO SHOW ON THE LOCAL ESPN AFFILIATE IN NY......ALL HE DOES IS.....YELL...AND CONSTANTLY....REPEAT....HIMSELF....AND YELL....WITH LOTS OF LONG PAUSES IN BETWEEN....WORDS AT WEIRD TIMES. DID I MENTION....HE REPEATS HIMSELF..............A LOT.

    IMO, Sammy hasn't been the same since he was beaned. I don't know, but it seems like since then he has stood further away from the plate and no longer strides toward the ball. Maybe its my own interpretation as I'm still a Sammy fan. BTW, I read nothing in that article that would indicate Sammy was being an ass in Baltimore?

    I know it is done a lot by sportswriters, pundits, and ESPN analysts, but I don't like comparing people form different eras. It is not fair to one or the other person. I think a more valid compairson is between two people from the same era, like Santo and Brooks Robinson for example. If Brooks is in Santo should be too.

    I do that in a NY minute, but I don't think that gets it done either. Willams nor Hill is a #1 starter and Cedeno is not an impact player.

    Williams isn't a difference maker either. I will be shocked if Hendry can get Dunn without having to give up one of the big three. Short of that I just don't see it happening. Quantity never trumps quality, never. So three #3s or one #2 and two #3s are never gonna get the Cubs Dunn.

    Would anyone do a Dunn for Zambrano trade? I think that is the kind of trade Cincy would want. They don't want a package of number 3 starters and an AA ball player. They would want an impact player. I just don't know. I would have to think long and hard about it, but I might. It would be a lot easier if Guzman could stay healthy.

    I agree with Coach C every series is a big one. The Cubs have to show they are a contender. They have to seperate themselves from the other medicore clubs. They are at a level of mediocrity now, the question is when the ASB rolls around will they have elevated themselves? Here is to hoping they do that and people at Wrigley lay off of C-Patt. Why do they love to kick a man when he is down?

    That's good news. If he's already throwing 2 IP, he might only be a month or so away. Right on! If Williamson can contribute anything this year it will be like making a trade without losing a player. Maybe even better, like losing Wilson :D

    I think there still are a lot of people on the bandwgn, it is derailed however by Dusty. The problem is in this line up the Cubs can't afford to have a guy hitting like Jason currently is hitting, or Hollandsworth for that matter.
