    Fast forward the same situation 5 innings. Why does one run later mean more than one run now? A run is a run; I'll take one in whatever inning I can get it in. If you play for one run that is the best outcome you can expect. You should only play for one run if you know that is all you will need (i.e., late in a game) IMO, it wasn't horrible, merely bad. Barrett is one of the better hitters on the team Dontrell was having problem with control (as evidenced by the walk and then groving one to Murt). JJ was in the hole.

    Rameriz is going to be a very good shortstop for a very long time.

    it was. but the throw still sucked. Even if Marshall would have used a slide step that throw wouldn't have gotten Rameriz. Michael does that a lot. His arm gets ahead of his body and his throws rise. As long as he hits like he has I don't care.

    Why? I doubt Marshall has made decent contact for a basehit since high school. No reason to mess around with Hairston. I guess I'm just a little old school. Second inning and your ace on the mound with the #8 hitter up. I go after him.
