  1. Ok three pitches two outs. I cannot listen to this today.
  2. I miss Corey
  3. That statement is ridicilous. Hendry knew both Wood and Miller wouldn't be back until May at the earliest. And I don't know how you can possibly call Miller the 3rd best pitcher when he hasn't thrown one inning in a Cub uniform. The Lee injury just magnifies the ineptitude displayed this off-season. I don't think I am some sort of baseball genius, nor do I think others who post on here are any smarter than Hendry, but many, many of us dearly wanted Hendry to do something to address the offensive shortcomings of this team. Instead, he over-paid for middle relief, traded three decent pitchers for Slappy, and signed JJ, Neifi, and Rusch to contracts. It wasn't hard to predict what is happening now. Not hard at all. Hopefully for all our sakes, Hendry does something smart to address the Cub's needs in June well before the trading deadline. He can't afford to wait.
  4. Not everybody. In fact, I don't know how many people were. I know I wasn't. I have no idea why the Cubs were trying to plug a hole they didn't have, while at the same time neglecting the need for a big back. As to the topic of this thread, I don't think Hendry gets a free pass.
  5. Exactly. That is exactly the thought process, I bet. Doesn't matter that it doesn't work. Have said this before and it is hard describe, but seeing is a conditioned sense. You have to learn see.
  6. Do you have numbers for that? BP did a study that showed pretty conclusively that the only good times to sac bunt when playing for one run are 1) when there are no outs and a runner on second and 2) when the pitcher (or someone who hits just as poorly as a pitcher - Neifi Perez for example) is batting. does the bp "study" conclude a that runner usually scores from 1st on a single? no
  7. I still love the Cubs. But damn it, this is ridicilous. How do you have your #3 hitter bunting with the guy on deck sitting at 0-4. somaanambeeech.
  8. JJ actually looks like he has a clue, not. I wonder if anyone has told him he is opening his front side way to early.
  9. Dollars to doughnuts the Cubs don't score here.
  10. And almost half a dozen stolen bases. XBH rule!
  11. Ronny can hit, won't take a walk, but he can hit.
  12. It's laughable. I like him better when he was slapping the ball the other way.
  13. Tribute to the Negro league team. Pierre grounds out here.
  14. Come Restovich, live up to that hype you once had.
  15. He is terrible. Easily the biggest mistake of Hendry's tenure.
  16. No Sammy would have thrown it into the 10 row behind home plate.
  17. That's why Barrett is a poor backstop. He lunges instead of blocks.
