  1. yeah, it's too early to prognosticate, but if he's blowing up the league for six-eight weeks to start the season.
  2. This is an interesting situation for the Kids. They let Jed go after him. If he produces and they don't/can't re-sign him, they look horrible and will take a hit in the media and with fans. A big hit. If I were a betting man, I'd bet that they make a good, not great, offer at an extension, and he goes to free agency. Then they try to get him in free agency, going "beyond their comfort level" (TM), and he signs elsewhere. That way, they look like they tried at every step to get it done, and they have plausible deniability for not trying to win stories that will come out.
  3. If he keeps this up he's not long for SB
  4. Tom likes diamonds in the rough like Ethan Herron, who he can say he was on before anyone. He doesn't like toolsy guys that everyone knows about because then it doesn't make him look smart. But really, he doesn't need to worry about looking smart.
  5. Was going to say the same thing. It’s baseball.
  6. Pearson reminds me of Wesneski, not in his pitching but in his mannerisms.
  7. jinx. But fly ball pitcher is going to have fly balls leave the yard.
  8. I said the cubs were going to win but I don’t know if I believe it. Jamo pitching in tough conditions is a good thing though
  9. It's always the length with Jed/Tommy Boy. They never want to pay the downside and only want to pay and get the surplus value. It doesn't work that way with top-end talent.
  10. They have to throw strikes. I hate nibbling. If they can't get guys out with strikes, they have no business in the bigs. You simply cannot walk guys in MLB and not have it hurt you.
  11. Bad ending, but a good series for the Cubs. I'm not going to make a lot out of Brown's start. The other guy couldn't throw strikes, either.
  12. I knew it by the bat. Bowa used some lumber. That has to be 38 ounces.
  13. I’ve seen enough of Presley for the year
