  1. Trying to take a positive out of this steaming pile of dogshit, Steele looked serviceable outside of the chin beard. I almost feel bad for Ross.
  2. I was just thinking, I’m definitely getting MLB The Show 2022 so I can build the Cubs from the ground up.
  3. I can’t listen to this, I’m out.
  4. 12-4 Marlins. Every loss is worse than the last one.
  5. Safe to say Winkler was not expecting to pitch this inning.
  6. Cubs may never get out of the 2nd
  7. Adbert out with a leg injury
  8. Adbert gives up a grand slam. 5-4 Marlins. No outs. Cubs snake bit.
  9. Happy Friday 13th, Cubs up 4-1 in the 2nd.
  10. They also started off pretty far back. In the last 10 games, they’ve picked up 6 games on Det and 5 on Col (passing both in the standings), 5 on Min and 3 each on KC and Mia. The only team they haven’t gained ground on is Washington since both are 1-9 in the last 10. They’re 3 games behind Mia for 5th right now. Only July 31 they were 6 back. 5th worst record is well within reach now. If they get swept by the Marlins there is no stopping this team.
  11. I really don't understand this so any clarification by anyone is welcomed. Kids who are good enough to get drafted as pitchers have pitched a lot and have strong arms or else they wouldn't get drafted, why are these guys only pitching two innings? I could see a pitch number limit, but this kind of thing does not make intuitive sense.
  12. look at his header pic He's a conspiracy dude.
  13. FWIW, I think the Ricketts are smartish business people and will spend as much as is necessary to make the team competitive, but one thing that gnaws at me is Tom's multiple statements about attendance being tied to spending. It's sort of a chicken/egg thing, but I'm guessing they have an idea of what that number is and will rely on "the baseball" people to make the best team within whatever limit they have set. Wrigley will always be a destination for out of town fans and I think they are banking on that too, only the bulk of that money goes to the side business and not the Cubs.
  14. ugliest loss of the year only surpassing yesterday's loss.
  15. I think ole' Tom and the other owners who manage MLB have a good idea of what the CBA strategy is going to be. I suppose we'll have to wait and see.
  16. Our C0bs are in free fall.
  17. The last time the Cubs tanked I at least believed brighter days were ahead for the organization. I don't really think that way now.
  18. Next up, Jason Heyward.
  19. I didn't grow up in Chicago so I don't get the hate for the WS. The owner is a turd and the fans can be a bit much and more, but the team, I never cared about one way or the other.
  20. Shoot that [expletive] to the moon for all I care.
  21. My wife calls it COVIDrage. I have a reflexive hatred of these people and I wish them all the worst of outcomes.
