    I'm not sure anyone here is paying attention, but Hendricks fade in the second half has me concerned. He's probably not worth trading, but probably not going to give the same production moving forward. The Cubs have a lot of holes to fill in starting pitching.

    I have been paying way too much attention to this team in the last few months than I should have given the W/L record. Although I think Ross doesn't really do a great job of managing the pen, still, he is doing a pretty good job of keeping the players playing hard-to-win games. The current collection of AAAA players and veterans have played hard and appear to be invested in these games. I think that is a point in Ross's favor. I don't know that he is the guy you want managing a contender, but he's done a pretty good job with a very bad hand dealt to him.

    I don't pretend to understand the NFL and I really don't watch much football at all, but it seems like a really, extremely easy decision to start your #1 pick, franchise-defining player. From an outsider looking in, the Bears look stupid.

    For some reason that reminds me of the Antonio Alfonseca story where he hid in the bathroom from former pro-wrestler Dale Torborg who was Marlins S&C coach.

    Fangraphs thinks 2022 is going to be another lost year for the Cubs.

    I'll take it a step further and say....I don't care about the HoF in any sport. I mean, probably a neat museum to walk through, but otherwise....meh. The baseball HOF museum is super cool albeit a bit underwhelming. Cooperstown is kind of like Gatlinburg but turned down to 3. The area is beautiful. I think it's worth a trip to drive there, just for the splendor of upstate NY in the summertime. If you're into that sort of thing, there are some great local breweries around there too. ------------------- I know most of us don't care, but the Cubs have a chance to end the season for the Cardinals and that makes me happy.

    Will definitely sort out where the big 10 is relative to other conferences. I'm rooting hard for PSU. The new Auburn coach is an antivaxxer and just an horsefeathers of epic proportion.

    I do not understand how programs like Florida St and Texas can stay down this long. There’s zero excuse in states with that much HS talent. I think Texas just needs to quit changing coaches every 2-3 yrs. FSU not so sure what all their issues are, I know the Indiana coach turned them down a couple of years ago. That doesn't sound normal Both of their issues are partly due to Saban sucking the talent out of both Florida and Texas.
