  1. Instead they're gonna give him his own version of the Manning-cast with Michael Kay. I can't imagine how anybody thought this would be a good idea. He's literally the opposite of Manning in terms of likeability and being interesting on TV. I thought the Manning-cast was a stroke of genius by ESPN but now it just looks like they stumbled onto it by complete accident. I don't know how anyone could think that would be a good idea. Agreed. No one has ever thought A-Rod was likable since he was about 24.
  2. Was the coach Harbaugh?
  3. Probably a completely worthless thing to post, but for whatever it’s worth, my friend lives in Lake Forest and claims to have seen Pace today and said he was visibly angry. I'll take it! It's the equivalent of seeing Theo at Starbucks or whatever. I hope.
  4. yeah, not gonna lie, i'm not informed enough to understand how some of these companies you always hear operate at a loss can just continue to soldier on. others that come to mind are like the rideshare apps, sirius, xm, siriusxm Sirius/xm made almost a billion dollars last year. They have negative equity due to the costs of putting satellites in orbit, but it's a profitable company.
  5. Having a minor-major league is objectively bad on its face. It's not NCAA football. It really doesn't matter what the stakes are.
  6. They will not start the season on time. This isn't something that can be hammered out in a week due to both sides being so far apart unless one side capitulates.
  7. A mid season tournament would hold no meaning to me in the NBA or MLB. but it would for most people and it would grow in stature over time. Or it wouldn't. Baseball is not soccer or the NFL or NHL. It's like the world baseball classic, nobody gives a horsefeathers. Baseball is baseball. I don't mind organic changes brought on by new technology or information (i.e., shifting, spray charts, spin rates, analytics, etc.), but systemic changes (runner or second n extra innings, 7 inning double headers, mid-season tournaments, TT's minor-major leagues, etc.) I don't like so much.
  8. There is a squadron of Red Tail F-22 at Maxwell AFB in Montgomery. They look pretty cool.
  9. Isn't it sad that's a real possibility? I don't think it's a real possibility.
  10. It also gives the Ricketts and the rest of them reasons to not spend money to make a team great.
  11. I like it, but the first mountain to climb cannot be scaled. The owners will never ever open the books to independent auditors to determine what percentage of revenue would go to the players.
  12. He’s high as a kite on Twitter right now.
  13. At Alabama they attract talent because they produce NFL players. It’s like a kind of momentum. Saban knows how to prepare these kids to be ready. He’s created a culture. It helps that he also has the highest paid assistants and great college town, but it’s about his process and what he does that sets him apart. I think it’s him, then every other program bunched together, more or less. Not sure I’d call Tuscaloosa a great college town and I’m positive no blue chip has ever gone to Alabama because of the town. Bama is buying players better than most everyone else. However, being able to buy the best players doesn’t equal success, which is where Saban comes in. They WIN because of Saban. Bama is putting more NFL players into the league than any other college not because Saban is “coaching them up” but because Bama has traditionally had the most blue chip players (read: NFL prospects) while he has been there. You’re full of horsefeathers.
  14. Well, ok, yes, other stuff too but if you believe the bagmen stories that stuff happens everywhere down there and yet they do it way better than the others (except Texas A&M this year apparently) At Alabama they attract talent because they produce NFL players. 15. You’re not honestly this naive are you? None of those things are why 5 stars go to Bama and Georgia. 16. The difference in talent shows. I don’t expect Alabama will beat Georgia again.
  17. WMU Broncos, represent!
  18. MAC about to go 0-4 in bowl games.
  19. That's a great list. I have a grandiose idea to re-organize the HOF into semi-defined eras and dramatically enlarge who gets in. I think players should be judged by the era in which they played. Dead ball Pre-integration Integration Expansion Steroid (and call it that) Whatever this era gets called in 20 years.
  20. It depends on Sanders' motivation. If his motivation is to build HBCUs into big-time programs and I'm not talking just sports, but using the money generated from sports to upgrade the universities, I hope he succeeds beyond anyone's wildest dreams. If he's big dicking it to show power schools he can recruit talent, it will be another in a long line of injustice done to these schools.
  21. I can't believe we're in a timeline where I'm glad ND got stuck with Charlie Weis instead of that human garbage pile, but here we are The worst thing is that Meyer is sure to land a big college gig next year.
  22. I'm not that big of a football fan. I like the Bears, but I don't get a chance to watch them very often. My very uniformed opinion is that Fields has the making of a very good QB, but the play calling is just awful. They are placing him in jeopardy putting him out there. If I were the Mckasky family. I would fire the coach and GM and guard my investment until next season.
  23. I'd be over the moon.
  24. I'm more interested in who the Cubs picked. Any details from people who know about these things?
  25. 2004 alone could be several episodes. Culminating in the clusterf finish to the season. People honestly like to relive disasters Craig Walter Brazell, I will never forget that guy and will never not hate Dusty for it.
