    If the Cubs could somehow manage to sign Correra, even with a 1 year opt out I will personally refrain from criticizing management for the entire 2022 season. Shouldn't that be enough to get this to the finish line?

    I think most don't have much of a hope anymore, but does this effectively confirm we're out on Correa? Or not really a factor either way? I agree with Goony. It shouldn't affect the pursuit of Correra one way or the other. But I question whether they were really ever in on him in the first place.

    Cubs lead the league in backup caliber infielders. Not a starter in the batch. Stocking up on fungible assets for the trade deadline. That seems to be their mode of operation now. Put half a team out to play for half a season and see what you can reel in come July 31.

This isn’t apologizing for the Ricketts but The Guggenheim Group blows them away. They don't own the Dodgers. Mark Walter owns the Dodgers along with a few others. They used a similar name as his other company. Again, the difference between the Dodgers and the Cubs is that the owners put winning on the same pedestal as making money.
