  1. I read it wrong, my bad. where is the embarrassed emoji?
  2. Hayden and Stroman walk out to music by Richard Wagner.
  3. UMFan83 posted elsewhere that they have to run a gauntlet of really good teams in May. I'm going to reserve judgment on my expectations until then. They are clearly a top 6 team in NL if the pitching holds up. Better if Taillon and Hayden can improve. If they bring up Mervis soon who knows? They literally cannot be any worse at 1st base/DH.
  4. His throws to 2nd have not been good. But he’s not alone in that respect. The Biscuits had over 20 stolen bases in the six games.
  5. PCA is a really aggressive runner. He took home on a ball that got about 3 feet away from the catcher on a passed ball.
  6. Nwogu. With his 3rd HR of the year. He is buff.
  7. It's important to not get too high or too low in a short stretch of games, but the Cubs historically have not done well on west coast road trips, regardless of the level of the competition. It's really nice to see them playing good baseball. This A's team is an embarrassment to major league baseball.
  8. Wisdom isn't really blocking Morel. I agree with Bertz, somewhat, but Morel is a poor man's Ben Zobrist and can play anywhere. If anyone is blocking Morel it's Madrigal, and that makes less sense to me.
  9. Brett out there beating the Mervis drum. I agree.
  10. I'm not much of a hockey fan, but as a sports fan, anything they can do to disincentivize tanking would be a good thing. I think a random lottery system would help in baseball. In a sport with a true salary cap, owners should be fined according to some formula based on their record and payroll by the league but it doesn't go against cap space. The fines should go to playoff teams. There is no reason for a team not to try and put their best product forward. In baseball, if it's impossible for teams like Miami, Cinnciatti, Pittsburgh, and Oakland to compete, the owners should be made to sell.
  11. I'm loving the MLB.tv package. I've never watched so much minor-league baseball in my life. One thing that has struck me, and maybe it's a bias, but the Cubs minor league pitchers give a lot of walks, a lot. It seems like it's much more than they are taking. Why is that command is so bad? Is this something they don't concentrate on in "the pitch lab" or early development? To me, it seems like a good idea to work on command because it matters most. Alternatively, maybe it's typical, but it seems like strike throwing would be a necessary requirement to make to the draft.
  12. Good series! Have to get 2 of 3 in Oakland
  13. Over Mancini and Hosmer. Bring up Morel and Mervis.
  14. I’ve said it before but I love Wisdom’s game. Bellinger!
  15. The umpire behind the plate is not long for the job. He rang a Smokies hitter up on strike 2. Later he said a Smokies hitter a HBP but got overruled by the rest of the crew. Ended up being a passed ball.
  16. Brown looks good. Coming out for the 5th. 6ks
  17. Conor Noland looks like he’s a 32 year pitching against high school kids. just physically.
  18. Even though they have a winning record, I feel like they don’t have their best options on this team.
