  1. It's in the box in the lower right on ESPNEWS
  2. Yeah I checked. In 2003 and 2004 combined, he played about 20 games each at third and in left. This year he has played first exclusively.
  3. Where would Texiera play? LF Does he have the ability to play there?
  4. That's what I thought. Arlington is maybe the second or third best hitter's park in the majors, behind Colorado and perhaps Philly. Petco has become the best pitcher's park in the majors. He also doesn't have to face the DH anymore in the NL. All that could cut a run and a half possibly off his ERA.
  5. Depending on salary considerations and prospects, I might be interested in that deal the Cubs countered with. Might? No might about it -- sign me up! I would say yes, but Burnitz is honestly one of the better corner outfielders in the majors in terms of defense, and Manny is one of if not THE worst defensive outfielder in all of the major leagues. Also, Burnitz is a left, and when Nomar gets back, if we trade Burnitz that leaves us with one lefty in the lineup (walker), just like the 2004 Cubs, something that people certainly did not like.
  6. And Marquis blew the game too...
  7. I believe TLR sent out Marquis for the ninth in a tie game with 111 pitches tonight. I guess its not only Dusty.
  8. Williams is gonna be kinda useless next start, because he must be gassed after this outting.
  9. KRod and Miguel Cabrera say hello. And Juan Cruz and Bobby Hill and... it's more skill than just being a rookie. Most prospects are notgoing to pan out. It's not like everybody who comes up automatically becomes a regular.
  10. Zimmer should manage, just to mix things up Luis Gonzalez can come back to play left field, the Flash would set up, and maybe Kieschnik would be the 25th/26th man.
  11. I don't know, we'll have to wait to see if he can pitch or not to know for sure. I wonder how many other position players, who pitched at least 1 inning, retired with an ERA of 0.00 ? I believe in one of Brenly's MANY Diamondbacks stories, he said he had Grace pitch an inning in a blowout and I'm pretty sure he didn't allow any runs. I do remember Grace pitching an inning, but I'm not sure if he gave up any runs. http://baseball-reference.com/g/gracema01.shtml Grace pitched an inning, and gave up a run. I think it was a homer, but I'm not positive.
  12. I loved Sammy, but he was really just a mistake hitter. He didnt go out and hit good pitches like Vlad Guerrero, so hes going to struggle when the best pitchers in the world come to town. That being said, there was time that if you made a slight mistake against Sammy, he would hammer it better than anyone in the game. IIRC, he has owned Curt Schilling over his career. But yes, I would agree otherwise.
  13. Macias woudla made Abreu look too bad.
  14. Next year maybe it'll be the Bobby Abreu derby...
  15. RBI for Pierre. :( I think Kerry need to be pulled. Not getting calls, getting behind in the count now. "Not getting calls" isn't really a reason to pull a pitcher. If the strike zone is tight, then most pitchers are going to fall behind in the count.
  16. Good Point. So who will get added along with the other two? Or will that spot just be left open, possibly for a trade?
  17. Bruce, On a related note to the kids, the Cubs 40 man roster currently stands at 42, so do you know how the Cubs are going to pare that down? Thanks a billion
  18. Jeter's gonna be there. He's a part of the last man voteoff, and of course he'll get voted on.
  19. Arod isn't a shortstop on the Orioles...
