  1. sorry bulls fans, even i have to laugh at that... oh wait, my sixers lost at home tonight to the bucks ](*,)
  2. well hc has their toughest road game tonight, at maryland. we're shooting about 25% from the field, which isn't the way to pull a big road upset. maryland is getting the obligatory home cooking from the refs as well, with fouls in the second half going their way 10 to 2.
  3. man if we are ever gonna beat michigan, this is the year. psu should actually be better than michigan overall.
  4. except that everyone in the Southeast thinks that USC refers to South Carolina.
  5. Thanks Truffle! WV is playing Auburn and Colorado which should help them regarding the voters if they win. OU plays Cincy in the first game, that ought to be interesting. There are some really good early-season matchups to look forward to: Miami vs Florida (ok not a great matchup, but I like this rivalry) Cincy @ OU (probably would be more interesting if it were OU @ Cincy) O$U @ U$C (hooo doggie) Georgia @ Arizona St U$C @ Virgina Illinois vs Mizzou (should both be top 15 this time) Kansas @ South Florida (nice to see Kansas playing a real non-conference game this year) Auburn @ WVU Texas Tech (hahahaha just kidding... they host Tulsa, go to Nevada, and host SMU and UMass. will they ever play a tough or even non-joke OOC schedule?) Arkansas @ Texas (ok only a good game if McFadden loses his mind and stays) Tennessee @ UCLA Wisconsin @ Fresno St (Fresno could be top 25 next year) South Florida @ UCF (unfortunately Kevin Smith is going to the NFL though) Oregon St @ Penn St Virginia @ Uconn Boise St @ Oregon UCLA @ BYU Colorado @ F$U Cal @ Maryland not bad for the first three weeks of the year. 9/13 (O$U-U$C, Georgia @ S Carolina, Kansas @ USF, Arkansas @ Texas, Wisconsin @ Fresno, Auburn @ Miss St, Penn St @ Syracuse , Virgina @ Uconn, UCLA @ BYU, Central Michigan @ Purdue for the 12th time in 2 years, Hawai'i @ Oregon St, Cal @ Maryland, Michigan @ ND) looks like it will be a great Saturday to park yourself in front of the TV.
  6. for those who are interested, this page: http://www.nationalchamps.net/ is a great resource for future schedules, and they also have a pretty thorough projection of each team's depth chart, including who each team is losing and who might go to the draft. very good site.
  7. It's never too early, right??? Who's going to play for the championship? Oklahoma looks loaded to me, unless they lose a number of juniors to the NFL draft, and their schedule is pretty soft. I guess I'll pick them to play for the title, where they'll inevitably underachieve and lose. Who do they play? Not sure. Ohio State will be very good again, and I think they'd end either 0 or 1 loss if they beat USC, but I don't think they will. USC is losing a lot of offensive talent, but their third string would probably be a top 25 team, so they should be really good again. Even though Notre Dame won't be very good, they still play a tough non-conference schedule (@Virginia, home vs Ohio St) Georgia returns a buttload of talent, but they still have to run a tough SEC gauntlet (@S Carolina, vs Tennessee, @LSU, neutral field vs Florida, @Auburn) and have a tough non-conference roadie against Arizona St. Mizzou should also be really good, and if they can win against Illinois, they've only got one bear of a game after that (@Texas). Plus the Big XII title game, of course, which I think will end up being another one in which a team is in the BCS championship game if they win. I guess I will go with Oklahoma versus USC - but I reserve the right to change my mind. As for Penn State, I have a feeling we'll be really good next year. And that's not a "homer" pick - I picked us to go 9-3 this year, and was a blown 17-point lead against Michigan State away from being right on the nose. Just call it a hunch. We return all of our offensive line and, assuming that Derrick Williams is not dumb enough to go to the NFL (being the #1 high school recruit doesn't make you an automatic first rounder, pal) the offense will return their top receivers as well. The only losses are Rodney Kinlaw, who was a pretty good RB but not essential, and Anthony Morelli, who sucked. On defense, most of the defensive line returns, except for Chris Baker, who hopefully will get thrown off the team because he's a douchebag. Dan Connor is a great linebacker, but Sean Lee will fill his shoes just fine, and the team is loaded at that position. Justin King's decision to stay or go to the NFL will be a big one. I figured he was a lock to go earlier this year - was supposed to be a mid-first round pick, and he's already finished his degree. But he didn't play very well the second half of the year and a lot of people moved him down their draft boards. My guess is that his physical tools will show at the combine, he'll move back up into the first round area and go pro. If he does, we still return three starters in the secondary, and A.J. Wallace will be a good CB - he'll just have to move up from nickel to starter, and we'll be kinda thin on passing downs. The last time we had a good, experienced O-line, a loaded defense and a mobile senior qb, we went 11-1 and finished behind only USC and Texas. The difference there was that Michael Robinson was more talented than Daryl Clark, who I'm sure will be the starter if for no other reason than he is a senior. He should be able to run the ball well, but passing? Who knows. I'm going to pick 10-2 at this point, with losses at Ohio State and either at Wisconsin or at home against Illinois. I'm predicting that next year we will finally get over the hump and beat those f***ers from Ann Arbor.
  8. I wouldn't be surprised if they only have one loss, considering next season's schedule: August 30 - Youngstown State September 6 - Ohio University September 13 - @USC September 20 - Troy University September 27 - Minnesota October 4 - @Wisconsin October 11 - Purdue October 18- @Michigan State October 25 - Penn State November 8 - @Northwestern November 15 - @Illinois November 22 - Michigan it's not like that is a cupcake schedule. @USC is a bear, and @Wisconsin and @Illinois should be tough road games. @Michigan St and home vs Michigan will not be gimmes either. I'm assuming they'll beat Penn State in the Horseshoe because, well, they always do. I mean, compare that to LSU's schedule next year: Sat, Aug 30 North Texas (joke) Sat, Sep 06 Troy (joke) Sat, Sep 13 TBD (home game versus patsy to be named later - joke) Sat, Sep 20 @Auburn (tough) Sat, Sep 27 Mississippi State (next to a gimme) Sat, Oct 11 @Florida (should be very tough) Sat, Oct 18 @South Carolina (probably on par with a game at Michigan St) Sat, Oct 25 Georgia (tough but at home) Sat, Nov 01 Tulane (joke) Sat, Nov 08 Alabama (next to a gimme) Sat, Nov 22 Ole Miss (joke) Sat, Nov 29 Arkansas (probably not even as tough as a game at Illinois, considering that McFadden and maybe Jones will be gone) Yes there's an SEC championship game also to deal with, but that's not exactly an incredible gauntlet.
  9. Boekman was so dumb; he escaped the pocket too early and then went to the right but all his recievers were on the left. Boeckman is a bad, bad quarterback. He can't throw, has no pocket awareness, and makes stupid mistakes. yet all year i heard him described as a "game manager." basically if a guy is white, not particularly athletic and doesn't throw a truckload of interceptions, he's a "game manager." if a guy is white and makes a lot of risky throws that frequently, but not always, pay off, he's a "gunslinger." (see brett favre) If he's white and makes a lot of risky, and bad, throws, then he just sucks (see grossman or ryan leaf) if he's black, then he's automatically an "athletic quarterback"
  10. No doubt, no way Wells stays for his jr year. Can someone explain how he went from Chris Wells to Beanie Wells? Is it his nickname or what? Wow, I jumped into the car with OSU driving about to make it 10-0 and I get home and look how the game has changed. wells has to stay for his junior year... you can't leave unless you've been in college (or at least out of high school) for three years. but wells def will be gone after next year. wikipedia:
  11. i liked the good hawai'i team, but given the poor facilities and non-existent recruiting budget at hawai'i, i can't blame jones for leaving. plus his salary is getting doubled. smu is really committing themselves to finally recovering from the death penalty. hope it works out for them.
  12. at this rate the ohio state band might be spelling this out at halftime.
  13. beanie wells will go to the nfl after next year. can you think of any ohio state players that could've been high draft picks but stayed for a senior year?
  14. That Cornely will not be an NBA player. if a guy can rebound and play defense, he has a shot at making the nba
  15. i wouldn't say that they'll both be drafted. one mock draft i saw (just the first one i found on google) has claxton in the second round and cornley undrafted. nba draft is only two rounds, and that includes four classes of college players along with foreign players. i do think that they'll both get invited to camps at the very least. neither guy is gonna be a real good scorer, but if they dedicate themselves to rebounding and defense, they can make a niche for themselves in the league. cornley's negative is his height (he's a forward and only 6'5") but he does have a wide body.
  16. any reason that the ohio state player held up the "hook em horns" signal after the defensive stop? did he forget which school he is playing for?
  17. yeah coaching is the biggest mismatch in this game, and fortunately for the titans, a very good coach can make a decent team better than a very good team coached by the village idiot.
  18. Yeah, they're doing much better in the playoffs this year than they did last year. Much better. 8-) Titan defense is absolutely amazing so far, though. It's not all Norv's fault - right now at least. he's got the best rb and te in the league; i think they should have more than zero points. plus, if marty was losing to a 10 point underdog at halftime, everyone would be torching him... so i'm just doing the same to norv.
  19. boy good thing the chargers got rid of marty, huh?
  20. By 10. Nah, we'll win this one. You have alot more confidence in this team than I do probably has more to do with the fact that penn state sucks
  21. way to piss one of your two challenges away, jacksonville
  22. it's the wild card round of the nfc, you should know what you're getting into here. chances are always strong that both teams will be mediocre.
  23. Haha, That's outstanding. it is? "cheat" doesn't substitute well for "pa" at least call them the Gaytriots or something.
  24. seattle over washington gnats over tampa pitt over jax sd over tenn ne kills pitt indy over sd (barely) dallas over seattle gb over gnats (barely) ne over indy dallas over gb ne wins super bowl by 30 points.
  25. that's pretty asinine. fisher and dungy are two of the most respected coaches in the game. the colts didn't call time out because they didn't give a crap about winning the game. if the browns wanted to make the playoffs, they should've beaten the bungles in week 16. they didn't, so too damn bad.
