Just kinda thinking out loud here, but Jed Lowrie is a good young shortstop prospect on the Red Sox who doesn't have a place to play, because Julio Lugo is signed through 2010. That being said, the Red Sox are pretty much always in win-now mode, so I don't think they'd want prospects for Lowrie unless they got a boatload of talent back. They also don't have much in the way of needs with their starting pitching or bullpen, and Lowrie serves as a backup infielder who is good enough to start on most teams. I'm just curious about how his situation will be resolved, because he's a good talent who deserves a shot somewhere.
