    joe nathan's annual ERAs is a twins uniform: 1.62, 2.70, 1.58, 1.88, 1.34 (this season). he'll likely pick up his 200th save in a twins uniform later this season. brian sabean should not only be fired for the pierzynski for nathan, liriano and bonser swap, he should probably be publicly flogged and castrated.

    yeah i was gonna say, it feels like iowa has been playing the isotopes for about a week straight, and it also feels like mcpherson has hit a home run in every game. i guess the part about mcpherson hitting a home run every game is true. wonder if he'll ever get another shot in the bigs. i figure at worst he is a righthanded russell branyan.

    i like how you say this. c'mon hendry, just go out and trade from our group of lousy prospects to acquire an excellent pitcher from a team that's 8 games over .500 and has a legitimate chance to make the playoffs! how can it be this difficult?!?!?

    only marginally worse, and he's not on steroids any more. i'll give you this one; he's been a disappointment. old old that's because a lot of those guys are bad pitchers. mike parisi was a bad pitcher at AA and AAA; no big surprise that he has been a bad pitcher at the big league level as well.

    3-1 I know Ronny hit it well, but when you are down 6 you should take two on 3-0. i must have missed your complaint about swinging at 3-1 pitches after geovany soto homered on one of them.

    He was converted to catcher. that would explain why he played third base today. He's not the full-time catcher, at they get moved around down there. It looks like he last caught on Sunday and Monday, batted DH, and is now playing 3B today. i guess my beef is that he's really a non-prospect at this point and he's taking playing time away from somebody who might be.

    one, if you want to blame that first inning run on him. personally it looked more like heads-up baserunning than sleepy outfielding, so let's split the difference and blame him for 0.5 of a run. so it should be white sox 7.5, cubs 0. One? What? There was that, the AJ basehit that he overran, the bad throw to home where he would have had Quentin if he made a good throw... that's three right there. And probably more. AJ hit that he overran scored on a home run, and it patterson has a below-average arm, so he's probably not throwing out quentin there anyway. you're being irrational, but that's par for the course in a game thread.

    They don't miss Lincecum. At this rate, they might seriously consider calling up Samardzija for bullpen help. Eyre is MIA, Lieber will be burned today. They are going to use at least a couple more arms. well that'd be a good way to ensure that we lose some more games by lopsided margins.
