  1. this could be an awesome night (cubs comeback win against this joke franchise, phelps wins gold) or a terrible one (serbian a-hole touches out phelps, cubs get hopes up and then crush them)
  2. well i guess we will see if the florida curse is really gone. 1 run lead doesn't feel like enough playing against these a-holes in this s***hole
  3. http://75.125.185.66/forums/images/smilies/aah.gifhttp://75.125.185.66/forums/images/smilies/aah.gifhttp://75.125.185.66/forums/images/smilies/aah.gifhttp://75.125.185.66/forums/images/smilies/aah.gifhttp://75.125.185.66/forums/images/smilies/aah.gif
  4. well they must be a good team then, if everyone playing like crap results in at worst a 2 run loss
  5. lol I don't mean they're choking for the season, I'm just saying that they look like they know they suck in Florida and there's nothing they can do about it. I really thought they'd continue to hit but the bats have gone to sleep again. they're losing by 2 runs to a team that's over .500, and two regular starters are not in the lineup.
  6. that gimmick isn't really working to bring in the fans.
  7. hey at least soriano didn't strike out all four ABs tonight.
  8. maybe we should have instant replay for that, too.
  9. one way to give him more of a chance to be better next time is to not have him throw 120 pitches.
  10. effin managers and their moronic "grind out 6 innings for us" mentality. i'm pretty sure that it's better for everyone if zambrano throws 104 pitches and gaudin throws 40 pitches in the next 2 innings than rather than having zambrano grit out a 130 pitch outing.
  11. fortunately there are only 4 inches between fontenot's knees and the ground.
  12. i could go for some sneaky power right here.
  13. So if you would have, just theoretically, the pitcher batting between Lee and Ramirez, it wouldn't matter? Let's not take it to stupid extremes here. That doesn't even need to be said. seriously... if lee had a .400 OPS then this might be a good comparison. he has an OPS in the low 800s, i'm pretty sure whoever you put in the 3-hole is not going to do a whole hell of a lot better than that.
  14. please let that be it for z... he's not locating well and he really doesn't need another 120+ pitch outing on his arm.
  15. Why is Derrek Lee still hitting third? There's no point in asking or answering that question. You don't make changes to an offense thats been dominating as much as the Cubs have been. If you can make the offense even better, you do. Lou certainly doesn't have a problem bouncing everybody else around. Lee is like the 5th best hitter on the team this season, he shouldn't be hitting third. fontenot should be hitting 3rd
  16. well at least the derosa home run gave most of the crowd something to cheer about.
  17. yeah maybe those back to back 120+ pitch outings weren't the best idea after all.
  18. just go when you're 90 years old. it's God's waiting room.
  19. Z was barking at him earlier. And now he's doing the mature, adult thing and giving Z a zone the size of an orange? that's what most umps do. doesn't make it right, but if an ump is gonna squeeze the pitcher for giving him crap, then you have to stop doing it.
  20. and thanks more to fredi gonzalez, for asking a pretty good hitter to bunt against a pitcher who's struggling with his command.
