  1. i think it will take a lot more than that to get the cubs to score 4 runs. 4 runs might be pushing it for this series, frankly. nobody is hitting the ball with much authority.
  2. apparently we got 2008 heilman, not 2005-07 version.
  3. better hope he's not diagnosed with a concussion; if he is then he's out for at least a week.
  4. aside from the obvious lineage, i have no idea why they traded for tony gwynn jr. he's friggin terrible. so terrible that zambrano walks him, of course. let's keep walking bad hitters like brendan ryan and tony gwynn jr., it's really working out great.
  5. ooh lots of walks, maybe he should be on the cubs.
  6. 2 K's for vitters. some guy named hamden got destroyed - 1 out, 4 hits, 2 BB, 1 HBP, 7 ER.
  7. no we were actually booing because he WASN'T paralyzed.
  8. Someone end his career... I wouldn't be sad. well of course you wouldn't, but you're an a-hole. and you're a philly fan. a philly fan who doesn't root for other players to suffer career ending injuries. just goes to show that all the classless fans don't live in one place, in fact they're pretty well spread out throughout the nation.

  10. And he plays good defense. Would certainly make a nice backup with that lefty bat. frankly he's probably not that far away - he makes good contact and hits well for average, and the defense/game calling is already fine. he'd probably be ready to back up next year, though if hill is decent then there's no need to rush him.
  11. clevenger is hitting .348 now. i know he doesn't have a lot of power or patience, but the boy can hit.
  12. The Cards dodged Zack Greinke and we get Jake Peavy twice in a week and a half. they also missed johan santana and danny haren in 3 game series and cole hamels in a 2 game series. what a crock.
  13. home run #9 for vitters in the 6th inning.
  14. yeah DUI, i forgot. that's depressing, our defense pairing is now dead and a vegetable. :(
  15. with the red wings? who's going to fight for them? Haha, good point. Draper? Maltby? That's about it. too bad it's not like the early 90s red wings. me and my friend used to play as them in NHL 93 when we would try to get penalties - we started probert, primeau, mccarty, konstantinov ( :( ) and chiasson. they were really good at getting penalties; one time we got down to 2 skaters and one of them was backup goalie vincent riendeau.

  18. since the royals don't totally suck this year, i'm kind of hoping this is the year that they stop being the cardinals' personal punching bag during interleague play.
  19. Not terrible. One out away from a quality start. too many walks though. still, it's not bad enough for him to get pulled from the rotation.
  20. you pick one. all i'm saying is that i'm not going to feel bad for a dirty player who got hurt when someone gave it back to them. especially a guy like havlat who runs and hides when it's time to pay for his dirty play.
  21. who was it on, havlat? if so, i'm glad because he had it coming. It's cool... he'll be fine... I hope Lidstrom leaves on a stretcher. why? havlat is a dirty player; lidstrom plays the game with class. you shouldn't root for injuries to guys like lidstrom.
